Carrefour Foundation — Food Transition

Carrefour Foundation invites applications to “Together for the Food Transition”. The program supports local nonprofit organizations to develop sustainable agriculture, zero-food waste or nutritional education projects. Organizations located in Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania and Taiwan can apply. One organization in each country will be rewarded €30 thousand. Australian Government — Direct Aid Program Papua New Guinea

The Australian Government seeks applications for its Direct Aid Program (DAP) in Papua New Guinea. The small grants program supports small-scale sustainable development projects and activities in the fields of water and sanitation, environmental protection, food security, scientific research, and others. Eligibility extends to community groups, NGOs and academic institutions engaged in development activities on a not-for-profit basis. Expressions of interest have to be submitted by 28 October 2022. Global Agriculture and Food Security Program — Recovery of Agriculture and Food Systems

The Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) announces a call for proposals for programs and projects that strengthen agriculture and lessen food insecurity in low-income countries. The program will support medium- to long-term COVID-19 response efforts for a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient recovery of agriculture and food systems in a changing climate. GAFSP intends to fund 5-8 proposals for a total of at least US$175 million. Applications (English and French) are invited from governments in the 56 member countries of the International Development Association in East Asia and the Pacific; South Asia; Eastern and Central Europe; the Middle East; Africa; and Latin America. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in the Caribbean Islands

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects), as well as environment, climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management. Project funding is up to C$50 thousand. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. The deadline for submission is 31 October 2022. African Development Bank — AgriPitch Competition

The AgriPitch Competition is a two-week-long business development program on strategic partnerships for agriculture projects. Participating agripreneurs will receive follow-up mentorship and coaching for a period of six months. The program offers total grant funding of US$140 thousand. Eligible applicants have to be less than 35 years of age and must be involved in an agriculture value chain focused business. The application deadline is 04 November 2022. Australian Government — Direct Aid Program India

The Australian Government seeks applications for its Direct Aid Program (DAP). The small grants program supports small-scale sustainable development projects and activities in the fields of agriculture; environmental conservation; and others. Grants are typically provided up to US$14,000 each for projects of max. 12 months. Eligibility extends to community groups, NGOs and academic institutions engaged in development activities on a not-for-profit basis. Application closing date is 10 November 2022. United Nations Development Programme — Small Grants for Sustainable Livelihoods Projects in Zimbabwe

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites proposals for projects towards supporting awareness and education on conservation; sustainable livelihoods activities; and alternative sources of income and energy in Zimbabwe. Proposed project budgets should not exceed US$150 thousand. Total expected duration of each project is up to 18 months. United States Agency for International Development — Conservation in Madagascar

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications from qualified entities to reduce threats to biodiversity and improve conservation; develop economic opportunities for the poor; and improve environmental governance in Madagascar. USAID intends to award up to 3 awards of approximately US$25 million for terrestrial activities and US$15 million for marine activities. Eligibility is not restricted. African Leadership Academy — Anzisha Prize for Young Innovators 2023

The Anzisha Prize seeks young innovators ages 15-22 in Africa who develop and implement innovative solutions to challenges facing their communities. Past awards include innovations in energy, agriculture, and ecological consumer products. The grand prize winners will share prizes worth US$140 thousand. German Academic Exchange Service — Project-based Personnel Exchange Program with India

The ’Project-based Personnel Exchange Program’ (PPP) is a bilateral research promotion program to strengthen the collaboration between Indian and German research groups, which are working jointly on a particular scientific project. Financial support is available to support exchange visits to the partner institution and short term stays of scientists and doctoral students. The program is open to academics in the disciplines of agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine, forestry, medicine, life sciences, animal sciences, and others. University professors, scientists/researchers and post-doctoral researchers from German and Indian universities and those in permanent positions at public funded research institutes are eligible to apply.
