The World Food Prize Foundation invites nominations for the Norman Borlaug Award for Field Research. The Award (US$10 thousand) recognizes science-based achievement in international agriculture and food production by an individual under the age of 40. The award will honor an individual who is working closely “in the field” with farmers, animal herders, fishers, or others in rural communities. The deadline for nominations is 15 June 2025. European Commission — Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to acquire and transfer new knowledge and to work on research in a European context or outside Europe. The scheme particularly supports the return and re-integration of researchers from outside Europe who have previously worked there. It also develops or helps to re-start the careers of individual researchers that show great potential, considering their experience. Applicants in the EU; their overseas territories; countries associated with Horizon 2020; and most developing countries are eligible for consideration. Nestlé Foundation — Human Nutrition in Developing Countries
The Nestlé Foundation supports research in human nutrition in low-income and lower middle-income countries. In relation to agriculture, the Foundation will consider research on food policy, food production, and food technology if the intervention has high potential for improved nutritional status and public health. The Foundation offers training grants, pilot grants, and full project grants. Priority is for proposals submitted by researchers in developing countries, or jointly with partners in developed countries. Letters of intent can be submitted at any time. Link
Food and Agriculture Organization — Recognizing Excellence in Agriculture and Food Security
The FAO Achievement Award recognizes individuals or organizations for outstanding contributions to sustainable agriculture, rural development, and food security. Winners receive a scroll of recognition and a cash prize of US$10 thousand. Nominations can be submitted by national or regional institutions through FAO Representatives. Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen — Networking Civil Societies
The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa) promotes tandem cooperation between civil society organizations from Germany and partner countries (listed in the announcement). CCP Synergy is aimed at employees from two organizations who are planning a joint initiative. The purpose of such a collaboration could be, for example, the planning and implementation of joint events, fact-finding missions, research, or artistic undertakings in the fields of sustainable development or climate justice. Bayer Foundation — Women Empowerment Award
The Bayer Foundation Women Empowerment Award (WEA) recognizes women pioneering in health, nutrition, and related climate-smart solutions. Fifteen female entrepreneurs will get the chance to join the 6-month Accelerator Program and receive €25 thousand in support of their business. To qualify, applicants must center their solutions around health or food security related challenges. The award seeks to support women entrepreneurs driving impactful solutions in the Asia Pacific region, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. The application deadline is 18 February 2025. Turkish Government — Türkiye Scholarships Burslari 2025
The Turkish Government offers scholarships to international students. The government-funded scholarship program is awarded to students who pursue full-time or short-term programs at universities in Turkey. Fields of study include Agriculture, Natural and Applied Sciences, amongst many others. Applications are open from students from all around the world. P4G — Green Growth and Sustainability
The P4G Partnership Fund provides financial support and targeted assistance to public-private partnerships that implement strategies to achieve the following five Sustainable Development Goals: Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture; Water and Sanitation; Clean Energy; Sustainable Cities; and Sustainable Consumption. P4G partnerships will receive grants of US$350 thousand on average. Projects have to be implemented in Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya, South Africa or Vietnam. European Climate Initiative — Transboundary Climate Action in Europe
The European Climate Initiative (EUKI) calls for project ideas for transboundary climate action in Europe. Projects may propose forward-looking ideas in the areas of climate policy, energy, buildings and municipalities, mobility, agriculture, soils and forestry, awareness, climate-aligned finance, or sustainable economy. Financing of between €50 thousand and €1 million may be provided for each project. EUKI supports climate projects in EU member states, with a regional focus on Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe as well as the Baltic states. Non-profit organizations from EU accession candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey) may apply for financing as implementing partners. Lutfia Rabbani Foundation — PhD and Master’s Scholarship for the Arab World
The Mahmoud S. Rabbani Fellowship is intended for Arab Students interested in pursuing their education in The Netherlands. A maximum of €15 thousand is awarded for one year. Eligible fields of study include Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery, Environmental Sciences, Natural sciences, and others. Arab students who have been accepted into a Master’s or a Ph.D. program in the Netherlands and Dutch students who have been accepted into a Master’s or a Ph.D. program in the Arab World are eligible to apply.
