African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) accepts applications for the Gender Responsive Agriculture Systems Policy (GRASP) Fellowship. The Fellowship seeks applications from women in Ghana, Rwanda, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Uganda. Successful applicants receive customized training in leadership, negotiations, gender, and agrifood systems policies and join a growing network of policy practitioners from more than 12 countries across Africa. The Toilet Board Coalition’s Accelerator is a 12-month virtual program designed to support sanitation businesses in emerging markets across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The Climate Mitigation Prize seeks startups developing technologies or business models to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat the root causes of climate change. The Climate Adaptation Prize is for startups developing solutions that help communities and ecosystems adapt to the impacts of climate change. Participants receive customized expert support to refine their business models and access to investors. The Plant Nutrition Scholar Award program offers ten awards of US$2,000 to students in the disciplines of soil science, agronomy, and horticultural or tree crop science with a focus on plant nutrition. The Catalyst Fund supports early-stage tech startups that are developing solutions for climate adaptation and resilience in Africa. Startups receive US$150 thousand in investment and An additional US$50 thousand worth of tailored venture-building assistance. Eligibility extends to companies developing technology solutions aimed at climate adaptation and resilience serving populations within Africa. The Digital Energy Challenge supports the development of innovative solutions for energy access, the integration of renewable energy, and utility performance improvement. The Call for Projects targets projects based in Sub-Saharan Africa. Projects must have a core element of digital technology (telecom, computer, or cloud-based). The Orange Social Venture Prize recognizes entrepreneurs and start-up organizations that make innovative use of technology in agriculture, energy, and other fields of development.
