The Amani Institute offers a post-graduate certificate in social innovation management that emphasizes leadership, communication, entrepreneurship and management, and creativity and problem solving. Fellows will participate in a 3-month Immersion phase in Nairobi (Kenya). Fellows represent a diversity of fields contributing to sustainable development, including themes related to the environment. Amani offers discounted tuition plus a limited number of tuition scholarships (but excluding airfare and housing) in cases of extreme need. The application deadline for scholarships is 06 May 2022. Atlas Corps seeks global professionals with experience in climate change and environmental issues to apply for the Atlas Corps Fellowship. Fellows will serve full-time at U.S.-based organizations and help the world progress towards the achievement of sustainable development. Atlas Corps is specifically looking for candidates with skills and expertise in: Sustainability / Environmental Social Governance, Environmental Protection & Biodiversity Conservation, Clean & Sustainable Energy. The Youth4Regions Program offers young aspiring journalists the chance to find out what the EU is doing in their region (the EU policy covers topics such as climate change, conservation, and sustainable development). Selected participants will receive mentorship from established journalists in their home country and have the opportunity to take part as a journalist in European Commission press trips to Member States. Accommodation and travel expenses are covered by the European Commission. Applicants must be citizens of a current EU, EU candidate or neighboring country, be between 18 and 30 years old, and have a background in journalism (applications from students are being accepted). Copernicus Masters is an international innovation competition that honors the best solutions using earth observation data and applications to solve global challenges. The Environment, Energy & Health Challenge, sponsored by DLR, seeks innovative solutions that use earth observation (EO) data to support sustainable management of the planet’s limited natural resources and foster human well-being. The winner of the DLR challenge receives €5 thousand. All participants have the chance to win an additional €10 thousand if chosen as the overall Copernicus winner. The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) seek candidates to participate in the training workshop on science diplomacy in Trieste (Italy, July/August 2022). The workshop is designed for young scientists (below the age of 40) living, policymakers and diplomats, research institution administrators and research funders, and representatives from NGOs working at the science-diplomacy interface. Economy class flights, local transport and accommodation in Italy will be covered for selected participants. The deadline for submitting applications is 15 April 2022. The Global Citizen Fellowship Program supports a total of 15 young changemakers from South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya who fight extreme poverty and inequality in their communities. Fellows will go through a multi-phase curriculum, specifically designed to equip them with the skills and tools they need in any future professional environment. Fellows will learn how to use digital technology for social change, storytelling tactics to shift attitudes, and build lasting professional relationships. The World Academy of Sciences Regional Office for Sub-Saharan Africa invites nominations of suitable candidates for the TWAS Young Affiliateship. Eligibility for nomination extends to researchers from developing nations who have at least 10 international publications. The TWAS-BIOTEC Postdoctoral Fellowship Program offers fellowships to young scientists from developing countries who wish to pursue advanced research in biotechnology. BIOTEC will provide a monthly allowance to cover living costs, such as accommodation and food. Applicants must hold a PhD degree and may not be older than 40 years. The Belmont Forum welcomes transdisciplinary proposals to its collaborative research actions on systems of sustainable consumption and production (SSCP). Proposals to the Belmont Forum must address one of the following four themes: Transdisciplinary Research to help transition to Green Economies; Sustainable and Resilient industries; Social Inequality and Environmental Justice; New Technologies, Policies, and Practices. The Belmont Forum will fund three-year projects. All projects should include 3 funding agencies from 3 different countries. Proposals will be due mid October 2022. Know more

Global Youth Mobilization is a movement of young people taking action to improve their lives in a post-COVID-19 world. The Local Solutions Fund supports young people that have an idea for a solution to overcome a challenge created by the COVID-19 pandemic to support their local community. Individuals or informal groups can apply for up to UD$1,500. Youth-led grassroots organizations can apply for up to US$5,000. Any young person between the ages of 14 – 30 can apply. Applications must be aligned with the WHO’s recommendations on COVID-19 public health measures (e.g., water and sanitation). Applications will be reviewed on a three month rolling cycle.
