As part of its program of official development assistance, the Slovak Republic annually awards scholarships to support qualified international students for studies at Slovak universities. The fields of study include ecological and environmental sciences; agriculture, forestry, and veterinary medicine; water resources management; and several others. Eligible countries for scholarships are Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kenya, Kosovo, Moldova, Mongolia, Palestinian Territories, Ukraine, and Vietnam. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives supports small-scale, high-impact projects in China. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights (which can include agriculture), environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is C$10 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. The YALI West Africa Emerging Leaders Program provides business and entrepreneurship training to young West African leaders from Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Burkina Faso. The program will teach young leaders (between 18 to 35 years) about modern leadership through coursework (in-person or online), a mentorship program, internship or community service, and report writing.
