Women Environmental Programme calls for applications from interested civil society and community-based organizations for the Women2030 seed-grants in Ghana. Sub-grants are intended to build capacity of women’s and gender civil society organizations to advance local, national and regional gender-responsive sustainable development policies (2030 Agenda & Climate). This may include, but is not limited to, gender specific trainings and monitoring, tracking SDG/climate policies and budgets, social media campaigns, and participatory community activities for gender equality and/or sustainable development. Each initiative may request €1 thousand for projects with a duration of 2-12 months. This call is limited to organizations in Ghana. The last date for receipt of applications is 16 February 2020. The Canon Collins Trust offers scholarships to students from Southern African countries to attend masters degree programs at certain UK universities. The Trust offers one-year scholarships for students studying justice, including politics and the environment, among others. Applicants must be nationals of Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, or Zimbabwe. The US Embassy offers small grants for projects that strengthen ties between the United States and Slovenia. Eligible topics for projects are broadly defined and include energy security, entrepreneurship and business development (including women), youth engagement, and environmental preservation and sustainability. Projects may request funding of US$10 thousand to US$70 thousand. Only registered Slovenian NGOs (institutions of higher education and nonprofits) may apply. The Canadian International Development Research Center (IDRC) awards the David Hopper Prizes for Leadership in Research for Development to two individuals for outstanding achievement in the field of international development. These prizes are available to researchers from low or middle-income countries who have previously received or currently receive IDRC support. The two winners will receive CA$50 thousand each. Service Objects In-Kind Grants provide support to organizations that encourage environmental leadership through the reduction of waste or assist in the aftermath of natural disasters. Organizations working to encourage environmental leadership and conservation are welcome to apply for grants of up to $2,500. Grants are offered to organizations that have 501(c)(3) status within the United States, however, there are no geographical limitations in relation to project implementation. The Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) Prize seeks business owners and entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia with innovations in renewable energy and agriculture. The Prize includes a US$355 thousand cash prize for winners and runners-up, and sponsorship to participate in the Clean Asia Energy Forum in the Philippines (June 2020). The Prize is open to mid-stage businesses and youth innovators. To be eligible for the mid-stage prize, enterprises must have existing services or products. The Girl Up Leadership Summit is an opportunity for youth leaders (ages 13-22) to gain the skills, resources, and confidence to make an impact on gender equality in their communities. For selected participants, Girl Up will reimburse up to US$1,000 for transportation costs (bus/train/flight) and provide a complimentary registration to the 2020 Girl Up Leadership Summit in Washington, DC (USA). Applicants who represent underrepresented backgrounds in regards to race/ethnicity, nationality, socio-economic status etc., are especially encouraged to apply. The Wellcome Trust enables researchers to run international exchange programs specializing in health-related humanities, social sciences or bioethics. An International Exchange Program is up to £1.5 million and can last for three to five years. The Trust covers the costs of carrying out the program. The proposed program must have one program leader based at an eligible UK organisation and one co-applicant based at an eligible organisation anywhere in the world outside the UK.
