Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation — Women in Agribusinesses

The program VALUE4HER seeks to increase incomes and employment for women in agribusinesses. This grant scheme is aimed at enabling women’s agribusinesses to try out new ideas and to spur innovations within women-owned agri-businesses. The maximum available grant per agribusiness is €9 thousand. The grant covers up to a maximum of 90% of the total project budget. The applicant has to contribute the remaining 10% either in cash or in-kind. Eligibility extends to African woman-led agribusinesses. Deadline for receipt of applications is 15 September 2019. Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum — Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships

The Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships fund Indian participants to gain exposure and access to research facilities in water resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. Fellowships of three to twelve months are for Indian scientists holding a PhD in water science and engineering. Internships of three to six months are for individuals currently engaged in their PhD studies in water sciences in India. The application deadline is 30 September 2019. Link

European Commission — Sustainable Energy Policy in the Marshall Islands

The objective of this call for proposals is to support the implementation of a sustainable energy policy. Proposals should support atoll local governments and community groups to improve their energy management, which includes investment plans for renewable energy. Grants under this call range from €95 thousand to €220 thousand. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Wildlife Photo — Wildlife Photography Contest 2019

The wildlife photography contest series for 2019 is open. Wildlife Photo will award prizes worth US$18 thousand in total (including photography trips and equipment). There are three categories for submission: Wildlife Portraits; Habitats & Landscapes; and Animal Behaviour. A selection of winners and highly-commended images will be exhibited on an outdoor screen in New York City. The photo contest series is accepting entries until 31 January 2020. Oriental Bird Club — Bird Conservation in Asia

The OBC Conservation Fund makes grants for bird conservation in Asia. Grant-making priorities are projects that benefit globally threatened bird species; that conserve threatened bird habitats; and that are led by Asian residents. Small Conservation Awards are up to £1,500 for projects of 12-18 months, with applications before 31 March of each year. There is a special early deadline on 15 November for projects that have to begin before July. The OBC also considers special and emergency applications at any time. How to apply

Nippon Foundation — Marine and Maritime Affairs

The Nippon Foundation makes its overseas grants to nonprofit organizations based outside of Japan. Particular interests in this program area include legal, policy, and governance issues in maritime affairs; support for multilateral networks on ocean issues; and marine environmental management and oceanography. Applications are accepted from non-profit organizations based outside of Japan. They can be regional or international NGOs/NPOs, including educational and research institutions. Nippon Foundation — Overseas Grant Programs

The Nippon Foundation makes its overseas grants to nonprofit organizations based outside of Japan. This refers to local, regional, and international NGOs and other nonprofit organizations, including educational and research institutions. Past projects and education/training include examples in small-scale agriculture and natural resources. There is no minimum or maximum grant size. There is no application deadline. IIDEA — Regional Integration Projects in East Africa

IIDEA invites organizations from East Africa to submit small-scale regional integration projects in agriculture, and other themes. Projects should focus on the needs of Youth and Women in the region. Financial support may range from US$10 thousand to US$50 thousand. Projects have to be implemented within a 12-month time-frame. Applications must be received not later than 30 July 2019. World Hunger Fighters Foundation — Fellowship for African Youths

The World Hunger Fighters Foundation seeks applications for the Borlaug-Adesina Fellowship. The fellowship program is aimed at African youths between the ages of 21 and 30 years old. The fellows will be invited to attend the WHFF Africa Youth Institute at the World Food Prize Foundation in Iowa (USA). The deadline for applications is 31 July 2019. Click here

UNESCO — Plastic Initiative Award & Photo Contest

UNESCO Bangkok invites schools, universities and other institutions to apply for the Plastic Initiative Award. Educational institutions from the Asia-Pacific region with established projects related to reuse/reduce/recycle, plastic waste management and innovations to solve the plastic pollution issues are eligible. The winner will receive a trophy and publicity. Furthermore, the winner will be invited to the Donor/Fundraising event (September 2019) at the National Science Museum of Thailand to give a presentation. The Award is complemented by the Plastic Initiative Photography Contest. The submission deadline is 31 July 2019. About the award
