The British Council Small-Scale Research Project Scheme provides funding (up to £5 thousand) for early-career researchers in the UK and countries in South Asia. The funding is intended for collaborative research projects in the theme water (e.g. water resource management, water health and sanitation, water cooperation and diplomacy), among others. Partnerships must be formed between a UK university/research institute and a university/research institute in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka. Earth Journalism Network — Environmental Data Journalism Workshop for Indonesian Journalists
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) and Resource Watch seek applications from Indonesian journalists for a workshop in Jakarta (26 and 27 August 2019). Participants will learn how to discover, use and visualize open data in their environmental reporting. Journalists should be based in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, or Bekasi and have a record of reporting on scientific, environmental, natural resource management and/or infrastructural development topics. The NOW-Us! (NOthing about us, Without Us) Award honors inspiring inclusive initiatives from Africa and Asia that trigger empowerment of otherwise excluded groups. This includes social enterprises led by women, indigenous groups and ethnic minorities with initiatives that improve access to productive resources (land and water), among others. The three winners (1, 2 and 3) get a grant of respectively €25 thousand, €15 thousand and €10 thousand along with coaching and networking opportunities.
