The call is open to communicators based in India from print, online, radio and television outlets. Participants will have the opportunity to go on a field trip and interact with members of a coastal community to understand the situation firsthand. Nigeria Energy Forum — Africa Energy Innovation Competition 2025
NEF invites applications for the Africa Energy Ideas Competition which aims to accelerate the development of early-stage energy firms across Africa. The competition is open to early-stage energy entrepreneurs from Africa to collaborate with local research institutions or industries. Young professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 years from Africa are invited to participate and nominate a relevant local research institution or organization. Embassy of the Czech Republic — Small-Scale Development Projects 2026
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria launches its annual call for proposals for Small Scale Development Projects. The call concerns all countries accredited to the Embassy: South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Lesotho, and Namibia. Projects and development activities providing materials or equipment, training, or capacity-building in the fields of sustainable management of natural resources, agriculture, and economic transformation (including renewable energy) are welcome. The National Geographic Society seeks proposals for its Extreme Weather and Natural Hazards Solutions program, offering up to US$50 thousand in funding for science-based projects. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Tropical Andes
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites applications for small grants (from US$5 thousand to US$50 thousand) and large grants (from US$50 thousand to US$200 thousand) in support of biodiversity conservation in the Tropical Andes. CEPF provides an informational webinar (in Spanish) to help applicants develop a successful letter of inquiry. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs, local communities, indigenous peoples groups, and other civil society organizations in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. World Academy of Sciences — Visiting Expert Programme
The TWAS Visiting Expert Programme supports visits of internationally renowned scientists to research institutions located in developing countries, especially least-developed countries. Only persons who have attained international recognition in their fields of science will be considered for support. Nominations of women are particularly welcome. World Academy of Sciences — Fellowships for Research and Advanced Training
The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) offers fellowships to young scientists in developing countries to enable them to spend three to 12 months at a research institution in a developing country other than their own. The purpose of these fellowships is to enhance the research capacity of promising scientists and to foster links for further collaboration. Costs are shared between TWAS and the host institutions. The fellowships are for research and advanced training. There is no age limit. National Geographic Society — Ocean Exploration and Discovery
The National Geographic Society provides early-career ocean scientists from around the world the opportunity to lead impactful projects that will explore, understand, and inform the protection of the ocean. Scientists will take advantage of the available berth space and research infrastructure aboard SOI’s Falkor research vessel during its 2026 season traversing the southeast coast of South America. To cover travel and project-related costs, the Society will award grants of up to US$20 thousand to selected research, conservation or technology projects. International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development — Mountain Prize 2025
The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) seeks nominations for the 2025 Mountain Prize. The Prize is awarded to an individual or organization that has demonstrated outstanding efforts enabling sustainable and resilient mountain development in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region. The prize is currently set at US$ 2,500. Thematic areas include access to water for drinking or/and sanitation, food/nutrition security, climate change adaptation or/and disaster risk reduction, access to clean energy, ecosystems/biodiversity management, and two others.
