Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — Online Course on Forest and Landscape Restoration

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) announces a call for applications for young professionals (under 35 years old) living in Asia for an online course on forest and landscape restoration. The online course includes teaching materials, access to expert commentary and guided exercises to support the development of ecologically, socially and economically realistic restoration plans. Irish Aid — Ireland Fellows Programme 2024/25

Irish Aid offers scholarships to qualified candidates from Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to undertake Masters degrees at universities and colleges in Ireland. Awards are made in the fields of development studies, rural development, biodiversity conservation, and many other subject areas relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory. Lipman Family Prize — Funding for Social Change

Each year, the Lipman Family Prize awards cash to three social impact organizations – US$250 thousand for the winning organization and US$125 thousand for each of the two other honorees. The award recognizes and amplifies the work of organizations devoted to positive social impact and creating sustainable solutions to significant social and economic challenges. Past winners include projects in the field of improved sanitation, energy innovations, and micro-forestry. Shape-Sea — Essay Writing Competition for Undergraduate Students

Strengthening Human Rights and Peace Research and Education in ASEAN/Southeast Asia (SHAPE-SEA) hosts an essay writing competition for undergraduate students from Southeast Asia. Students are asked to write a paper on the right to a safe, clean, and sustainable environment and raise their voice on diverse issues and lived experiences reflecting the state of the environment and human rights in the region. Eligibility extends to Southeast Asian undergraduate students currently enrolled in a Southeast Asia tertiary academic institution. The winners receive small cash prizes. Research Institute for Sustainability — Fellow Program

The Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) invites applications for the RIFS Fellow Program. The Institute particularly welcomes proposals that envisage active collaboration with RIFS researchers and offers Fellows the opportunity to develop their ideas in an international community of eminent researchers, not only within the institute, but also in the wider Potsdam-Berlin area. Applicants can come from a wide range of sectors such as science, public administration, the private sector, civil society, media and the arts. Fellows will receive financial compensation to cover their additional costs of living during their stay in Germany. Conscious Food Systems Alliance — Conscious Food Incubator

The Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA) invites applications for the Conscious Food Incubator to support the experimentation of innovative approaches to transform food systems. The aim is to support people from across food and agriculture systems to cultivate the inner capacities that activate systemic change and regeneration. UNDP will fund four pilot interventions of up to US$20 thousand. There is no specific geographic focus or restriction on the location of beneficiaries or applicants. Eco-Generation — Youth Ambassadors for Environment

Samsung Engineering Eco-Generation announces the call for applications for the 31st Regional Youth Ambassadors Program. Eco-Generation is a social networking platform offering a range of possibilities for engaging children and young adults to advance their role and commitment in environmental conservation and protection. Youth aged between 13 and 24 qualify to become an ambassador and represent Tunza Eco-Generation. The Ambassador Program provides exceptional experiences with the opportunities to actively plan, to execute or participate in various environmental awareness programs around the world. Social Shifters — Global Climate Challenge

Social Shifters announces the Global Innovation Challenge to help young leaders and founders to solve the social or environmental issues that matter to them. The challenge seeks creative ideas, projects, and business solutions to the problems that matter to local communities and welcomes ideas from anywhere in the world. Participants compete for awards of up to US$10 thousand to deliver activities that improve lives, help communities, and protect the planet. Asia Foundation — Development Fellows 2024

The Asia Foundation’s Development Fellows program provides qualified young Asian professionals with an opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills and gain in-depth knowledge of Asia’s critical development challenges. The program offers two weeks of leadership training in Asia and another two weeks in the USA, plus a grant of US$5 thousand to support individual plans for professional development. Applicants should be less than age 40 and have demonstrable experience in one of the program’s fields of expertise, which include environment (among others). The program is open to resident nationals and citizens of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pacific Islands, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. P4G — Partnership Awards

The P4G Partnership Fund provides financial support and targeted assistance to public-private partnerships that implement strategies to achieve the following five Sustainable Development Goals: Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture; Water and Sanitation; Clean Energy; Sustainable Cities; and Sustainable Consumption. Start-up projects may apply for up to US$100 thousand, scale-up projects may apply for up to US$1 million. Projects have to be implemented in a developing country.
