Earth Journalism Network — Building Awareness about Renewable Energy in India
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) seeks to boost content production and distribution of information to build awareness about renewable energy in India. EJN will support the production of in-depth content on the subject with approximately Rs 90,000 per selected applicant. Content can be produced in English or local languages, or both. Applications are open to India-based content producers (online, print, television, radio) and other experts with a demonstrated interest in covering the renewable energy sector. Village Capital — Ecosystem Restoration
Village Capital supports 10-12 impact-driven startups building locally viable ecosystem restoration solutions in Africa. The program addresses entrepreneurs championing forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, wetland restoration and water conservation, sustainable agriculture and climate tech solutions. Participants will receive mentorship and access to an investment analyst. Eligibility extends to (for-profit) startups building locally viable ecosystem restoration solutions. The Thomson Reuters Foundation invites journalists from Latin America to register for a workshop on rural poverty and agriculture. The program will build the capacity of journalists to cover food security, food production, markets and climate issues. The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) invites applications for the Earl S. Tupper 3-year postdoctoral fellowship. Research should be based at one of the STRI facilities, but proposals that include comparative research in other tropical countries will also be considered. The annual stipend is US$55 thousand, the annual research budget is up to US$16 thousand. International Journalists’ Programmes — Fellowship for Climate and Energy Topics
International Journalists’ Programmes (IJP) announces a special fellowship for journalists interested in reporting in the field of climate and energy. Ten journalists, who are granted the climate & energy bursary, will receive training, support, and are welcome to pursue transnational research on a common topic during their fellowship. Each fellow will receive a stipend of €3.800 to help cover travel costs, accommodation and personal expenses. Eligibility extends to journalists working for any print, radio, online or TV media in Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The European Commission (EC) aims to empower civil society in the Pacific Island countries to influence policy and decision making processes. The priority areas for this call for proposals are community adaptation and resilience to climate change, economic empowerment (e.g., preserving economic livelihoods through small-scale farming), and supporting youth. Save Our Seas makes grants for marine research, conservation, and education worldwide.
