World Oceans Day — Become a Young Ocean Leader

The World Oceans Day Youth Advisory Council needs 15 new young ocean leaders from around the world. The Council works closely with The Ocean Project and its global partner network to help shape the development of World Oceans Day. Members will develop projects and help to shape the World Oceans Day. Applicants should be between the ages of 16 and 22, able to make a two-year commitment (including approximately 10 hours per month to Council activities). Applications are due by 03 October 2018. United Nations Development Programme — Ecosystem Challenge for young African Entrepreneurs

The purpose of the ecosystem challenge is to seed youth entrepreneurship focused activities through provision of catalytic grant capital of US$10 thousand. Proposed projects should provide an innovative solution to development challenges facing the youth in Africa. Thematic areas may include one or multiple categories of the Terra Viva Grants Directory. Youth for Water and Climate — Support for Youth-led Projects

The Youth for Water and Climate #YWC Platform calls for youth-led projects related to water management and climate change adaptation. Selected projects will receive financial support of up to €3,500 and be featured on the YWC platform. Eligibility extends to young project leaders between 18 and 35 years. Project leaders from low and middle income countries or targeting indigenous communities will be prioritized. The deadline to submit proposals is 16 October 2018. Support from #YWC

UN Women — Youth Led Social Entrepreneurship Solutions in Africa

UN Women partners with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to grant financing to African youth entrepreneurs to develop and implement their solutions to address gender specific development challenges in their communities. Winning entries will receive seed grants of US$ 5 thousand or scale grants of US$ 10 thousand to develop and test their innovations. Eligibility extends to Africans aged between 15 and 35 years with scalable ideas to transform their community or country. The applications deadline is 18 September 2018. International Organization for Migration — Training Experience for Young Social Entrepreneurs

IOM and partners announce a call for applications to participate in the youth entrepreneurship pitching event “Start and Scale-up for SDGs”. The event will take place in Geneva (Switzerland) on 15 November 2018 as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week. Young entrepreneurs from around the world are invited to pitch business ideas that contribute to at least one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A selected panel of impact investors, sustainable finance specialists and other experts will then provide comprehensive feedback on the submissions. OneAfricanChild Foundation — Small Grants for Youth Changemakers

The OneAfricanChild Foundation and Peace First support projects from young social entrepreneurs (13-25 years) in the themes of education, environment, gender equality, social inclusion, health, and technology. The small grants of US$250 are intended to help bring positive change to local communities. Eligibility extends to individuals from Nigeria, Kenya, Benin Republic or Cameroon. International Finance Corporation — Contest for Youth Engagement in Energy, Water & Transport

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and International Youth Foundation (IYF) invite applications for a contest for Youth Engagement in Energy, Water & Transport. The contest aims to inspire and create a dialogue on innovative ways to engage young people in natural resource industries while addressing some of the problems and needs of communities and companies. Youth between the ages of 15 and 30 are invited to submit content around core themes of energy, water, and transport. The competition is open to nationals of all countries. United Nations — Youth Submissions for the 67th UN DPI/NGO Conference

The Youth Sub-Committee seeks submissions from youth, showcasing their work inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals at the 67th UN DPI/NGO Conference, ”We the Peoples”. Video submissions should show why Multilateralism is needed in ending poverty, addressing climate change, forging equality and ensuring access to education in order to create a more peaceful world. One Young World — Mary Robinson Climate Justice Award 2018

One Young World seeks applications for its Mary Robinson Climate Justice Award 2018. Submitted projects must addresses sustainable development and/or climate change with a particular emphasis on balancing the needs of present and future generations, i.e. poverty reduction, conserve or sustainably manage natural and cultural heritage, or climate education. The winner will receive £5 thousand to support or launch their project and a fully sponsored delegate place to attend the One Young World Summit 2018 in The Hague (Netherlands).
