The Climate Gender Equity Fund (CGEF) aims to increase access to finance for community-based organizations that advances gender equitable climate action. The Fund seeks climate- and gender-smart fund managers and entrepreneur networks aiming to unlock capital for long-term and systemic change. Organizations may propose to use grant funding for a variety of purposes including building their own capacity to provide gender-smart and gender transformative climate finance. L’Oréal supports organizations in their efforts to help women to get out of poverty. The Fund focuses on supporting women and girls’ empowerment, particularly through projects in favor of social or professional integration and education. A specific attention is paid to refugee women and women with disabilities. Eligibility extends to grassroot non-profit organizations. WAAW Foundation — STEM Scholarships for African Women
The WAAW Foundation supports African women who seek a STEM-focused college education. The Foundation offers a need-based scholarship of US$500 to undergraduate female African students. Applicants have to be under 32 years old and be enrolled in an undergraduate B.S. degree program at a University or college in Africa. AWOLA (Africa Women Leaders in Agro-ecology) is a leadership career development initiative with the aim of equipping women working on agroecology, sustainable agriculture and food systems with leadership skills. The 3-year leadership program aims to create women leadership to transform and influence policies and programs across African countries. AWOLA will support mentees through virtual and face-to-face training sessions and fundraising efforts. The fellowship targets current citizens of Kenya, Zimbabwe and Uganda with experience in agriculture or working on agro-based livelihoods with farming communities. The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) supports early-career women scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with doctoral fellowships in the natural sciences. The applicant must have received her PhD in a scientific discipline within the previous ten years and whose current scientific research is related to the area of water, sanitation and hygiene. Five grantees receive a cash grant of US$5 thousand and an all-expenses-paid trip to attend a relevant international conference. Applicants should be qualified young women science graduates (generally below 40 years of age), who have an M.Sc. degree or outstanding B.Sc. in the natural sciences. Right Sharing of World Resources — Seed Grants for Women’s Microcredit Projects
Right Sharing of World Resources (RSWR) makes seed grants to support income-generating projects led by women. RSWR’s current priorities are grassroots organizations selected states and districts of India; Quaker groups in Kenya and Sierra Leone. Projects include many in the production and sale of fruits and vegetables; meat and milk; grain crops; fish; fuelwood; and other enterprises associated with small-scale agriculture and rural livelihoods. Grants are usually US$5,500 (but many are considerably smaller) for a one year project. RSWR has two funding cycles with deadlines on 30 June and 31 December each year. Enabel — Prize for Women Entrepreneurs
The Awa Prize highlights women entrepreneurs from Belgian development cooperation countries and their projects. The prize aims to promote women entrepreneurs in their local community and strengthen them in their entrepreneurial success. The winner receives €50 thousand in support of their enterprise and one week in Belgium. Participating countries for the 2023 edition: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, DRC, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Palestine, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda.
