As part of its program of official development assistance, the Slovak Republic annually awards scholarships to support qualified international students for studies at Slovak universities. The fields of study include ecological and environmental sciences; agriculture, forestry, and veterinary medicine; water resources management; and several others. Eligible countries for scholarships are Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kenya, Kosovo, Moldova, Mongolia, Palestinian Territories, Ukraine, and Vietnam. EUROPARC Federation — Study Visits at Protected Areas in Europe and Eurasia
The EUROPARC Federation partners with the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung to promote international cooperation within the European dimension of protected area management. Grants of €3 thousand allow young conservationists to make study visits to one or more protected areas external to their home countries. The study visits should correspond to any of the five themes identified in the announcement. In addition to western Europe, participating countries include Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Swedish Institute — Scholarships for South Africa
The Swedish Institute (SI) provides citizens of South Africa with fully-funded international scholarships for master’s studies in Sweden. The scholarship aims to develop future global leaders that will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and contribute to a positive and sustainable development in South Africa. The scholarship is intended for full-time one-year or two-year master’s programs. Expo Live — Innovation Impact Grant Programme
Expo Live supports novel solutions that address pressing environmental and climate challenges. The program offers up to US$50 thousand in funding to support the growth of social enterprises, startups and grassroots projects from around the world that offer creative solutions to pressing challenges. National Geographic Society — Animal Behavior and Cognition
The National Geographic Society seeks scientists doing field research on animal behavior and cognition. Selected scientists will receive direct funding of US$800 thousand, as well as substantial additional resources and services over four years. Projects must be research-based, be fieldwork-oriented and focus on wild populations. This funding opportunity does not have any taxonomic or geographic restrictions. U.S. Department of State — Professional Fellows Program for Latin America and the Caribbean
The U.S. Department of State invites proposal submissions for the Young Leaders of the Americas (YLAI) Fellowship Program. The global exchange program will support approx. 250 social entrepreneurs from Latin America and the Caribbean in a five to six-week Fellowship program, including entrepreneurial training and workshops. The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa) promotes tandem cooperations between civil society organizations from Germany and partner countries (listed in the announcement). CCP Synergy is aimed at employees from two organizations who are planning a joint initiative. The purpose of such a collaboration could be, for example, the planning and implementation of joint events, fact-finding missions, research or artistic undertaking in the fields of sustainable development or climate justice. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Sri Lanka. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water and plastic waste management, and other thematic priorities. The average CFLI contribution is C$30 thousand to C$50 thousand. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national or community-based organizations.
