UN Trust Fund — End Violence against Women
The UN Trust Fund seeks proposals for initiatives to end violence against women and girls. Projects supported include projects in climate change-affected areas, and projects focused on protecting and empowering women living in rural areas. Grants are between US$150 thousand to US$1 million for four years. The UN Trust Fund only accepts applications from civil society organizations and women’s rights organizations with a track record of working on the elimination of violence against women and girls. RBC Foundation — Tech for Nature
The RBC Foundation accepts applications for its 2024 grant program. RBC Tech for Nature supports new ideas, technologies, and partnerships to solve pressing environmental challenges. Applicants can submit new technologies to solve issues related to climate change, food security, air quality, energy needs, and access to clean water. Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research — Food Systems Accelerator
The CGIAR Food Systems Accelerator aims to support agribusiness with eco-friendly agricultural practices. The four priority innovation themes are: Mechanization and irrigation; Conservation agriculture; Nutrition-sensitive climate smart agriculture; and Agricultural Risk Management. Supported innovations should be designed to benefit smallholder farmers in East and Southern Africa. The program provides technical assistance and access to investors and corporate partners. Four companies will receive US$20 thousand. Applicants must be a for-profit company operating in Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe. The Urban Studies program at Oxford University (UK) offers part-time master’s and doctoral courses for practitioners and researchers engaged in cities and urban issues. The MSc in Sustainable Urban Development is a part-time course (taken over two years) and is designed to suit those working in a range of urban contexts worldwide. The Contemplative Changemaking Grants support the use of contemplative approaches by grassroots changemakers addressing urgent community needs. Grants will fund projects that support changemakers in transforming lives and communities. Funding is up to US$10 thousand for a 2-year period. The One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC:Learn) provides free resources and online courses to achieve climate change action both through general climate literacy and applied skills development. This free online course focuses on why promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment can help deliver better environmental outcomes in the fight against climate change. Participants will receive facts and figures on gender dimensions linked to biodiversity, climate change, land degradation, international waters, and chemicals and waste. The course is self-paced. Global Nature Fund — Living Lakes Network
Living Lakes is a global network of partnership organizations to protect lakes, wetlands, and other freshwater sources and their catchment areas. The network takes an ecosystem approach to include biodiversity conservation and support for local livelihoods, e.g., in agriculture, fisheries, tourism, etc. Living Lakes does not make project grants, but it offers network assistance to members. Members are able to include their projects and proposals in the Living Lakes portfolio for the attention of potential donors and sponsors. Members may also apply for assistance to participate in the meetings, workshops, and conferences of Living Lakes — and to seek other forms of networking and training support.
