Inter-American Foundation — Research Fellowship Program
The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) welcomes applicants for its new Research Fellowship Program to advance rigorous field-based research on actionable questions about community-led development in Latin America and the Caribbean. Each fellowship includes a stipend of US$20 thousand to support an individual researcher working for twelve months. United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification — Training Workshop for French-speaking Journalists
The Convention Secretariat organizes a training session for French-speaking journalists who cover the African continent on desertification and the role of the media in promoting sustainable land management practices. The Joke Waller-Hunter (JWH) Initiative offers grants to advance the leadership of young individuals working for or affiliated with environmental civil society organizations in developing and emerging countries. Wilson Center — International Fellowship Program
The Woodrow Wilson Center offers a 9-month residential fellowship to scholars, practitioners, journalists, and public intellectuals. Fellows conduct research in their areas of interest while interacting with policymakers in Washington and Wilson Center staff and other scholars in residence. The Center accepts proposals that address key challenges confronting the United States and the world. The Center offers a stipend of US$90 thousand. Misereor — Grassroots Development
Misereor is the international development agency of the Catholic Church in Germany. Its mission is to fight hunger, disease, poverty, and other forms of human suffering in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Issues and themes include climate change and justice; food security and agriculture; access to land; energy for the poor; and extractive industries. 100+ Accelerator seeks startups that have solutions to create and implement sustainable and energy-efficient practices to build a more water-secure world. The Accelerator delivers 6 months of remote training to accelerate the collaboration and growth of cohort companies. Inter-American Development Bank — Regional Public Goods
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) calls for proposals on regional public goods that have the potential to generate significant shared benefits. Proposals that address cross-cutting issues, such as climate change and environmental sustainability (among other themes), are particularly welcomed. Projects should be tri-national, or exceptionally bi-national. The size of the grant typically averages US$500 thousand per project for a maximum of 3 years. Counterpart resources are required. Soest Third World Group Foundation — Small-Scale Development Projects
The Soest Foundation, based in the Netherlands, supports small-scale development projects for water, agriculture, aquaculture, and other needs of the very poor. The average contribution to a project is about €2,500 to €3,000. Project assistance is provided for up to three years.
