IDEX Accelerator — Virtual Fellowship Program

IDEX invites applications worldwide for a Virtual Fellowship Program. The virtual program is designed to enable young professionals to acquire the tools and resources they need for a successful career in social entrepreneurship. Each fellow will gain access to online learning labs with 3-4 social enterprises from across the globe, webinars, and community engagement. Candidates should be 21 to 35 years old, with a minimum of one to three years of professional work experience. The application deadline is 03 May 2020. Details here

Africa YES Centre — Social Entrepreneurship Training Program

The Africa Young Entrepreneur Support (YES) Program is a 6-month intensive fully sponsored entrepreneurship training that provides young African social entrepreneurs (between 18-29 years) with the resources they need to create impact in their local communities. 30 selected candidates will receive hands-on training sessions, mentorship and access to up to US$15 thousand in grants. Please note that the program requires candidates to be in Nairobi for the entire program period because travel and accommodation is not covered. U.S. Department of State — Wildlife Trafficking and Illegal Mining in West Africa

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), invites applications from qualified U.S. and foreign non-profit organizations (including NGOs), and educational institutions to implement a program entitled “Wildlife Trafficking and Illegal Mining Research Projects.” INL will support programs that improve INL’s knowledge of wildlife trafficking and illegal mining that will help inform future capacity building programs. INL intends to make two awards of up to US$750 thousand total in funding. The closing date for submission of applications is 10 June 2020. Link

WASCAL — Master’s Program on Climate Change and Marine Sciences

The Technical University of Atlantic (Cabo Verde) seeks applications for its Master’s Program on Climate Change and Marine Sciences (MP-CCMS). The West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) offers scholarships to African MSc students. The program includes English language training for participants from Francophone countries, three semesters of joint Master’s courses, shipboard training, and a scientific trip to a German partner institution. To eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be citizens of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, or Togo. U.S. Mission to Indonesia — Combating Environmental Crime

The U.S. Mission to Indonesia provides financial assistance to build the capacity of law enforcement, government institutions, and local civil society organizations to prevent and report on environmental crimes in Indonesia. Capacity-building activities could include but are not limited to financial analysis ; conducting workshops, hosting conferences, or facilitating study tours. Individual awards are not to exceed US$225 thousand. Eligibility extends to U.S. based and overseas-based non-profit organizations (NGOs) or educational institutions. Please note that this is a two-step application process. Applicants must first submit a short concept note. Selected applicants will then be invited to submit full proposal. U.S. Department of State — Call to Implement the YSEALI Professional Fellows Program

The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a professional development exchange for community leaders from ASEAN countries in the fields of civic engagement, NGO management, economic empowerment, governance, legislative process, and environmental and natural resources management. The Program will bring at least 200 emerging leaders, ages 25-35, from Southeast Asia to the United States to participate in leadership and professional development activities. Climate Tracker — Opportunity for Journalists from the Philippines

Climate Tracker seeks 15 journalists from across the Philippines for a three-day workshop on climate justice reporting. Climate Tracker will make 5 travel grants for deserving applicants to attend the workshop. One participating journalist will be selected for a fully-funded trip to Germany, to cover the UN climate talks in June. UN Climate Change — Training on Greenhouse Gas Inventories

UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Greenhouse Gas Inventory & Research Center of Korea accept applications for a professional training program on the transparency of climate action and support. The program is open to national climate experts from developing countries. The overall goal is to enhance the technical capacity of individuals and to improve the overall competency in reporting on climate change. International Initiative for Impact Evaluation — Empowering Women

The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation invite proposals for implementation and/or evaluation grants under our the program “Swashakt: Empowering women through collective based approaches.” Proposals that aim to expand and increase economic returns; build women’s leadership; and expand technical and business strength of existing women’s collective enterprises are particularly welcome. 3ie will provide funding of up to US$1 million for selected implementation and evaluation projects with a duration of up to 3 years. Swedish International Development Agency — Training Workshop: Mine Water and Mine Waste Management

Sida funds short-term training in selected development topics for participants from relevant organizations and agencies in Eastern and Southern Africa. Invitations are open to applicants for the Advanced International Training Programme “Mine Water and Mine Waste Management.” The overall objective of this program is to develop a sustainable use of natural resources and to secure safe living environments for future generations.
