African Development Bank — AgriPitch Competition

The AgriPitch Competition is a two-week-long business development program on strategic partnerships for agriculture projects. Participating agripreneurs will receive follow-up mentorship and coaching for a period of six months. The program offers total grant funding of US$140 thousand. Eligible applicants have to be less than 35 years of age and must be involved in an agriculture value chain focused business. The application deadline is 04 November 2022. Yale University — Yale Young African Scholars 2023

Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) offers an academic summer program for secondary school students from across Africa. The program offers online and in-person programs in four interdisciplinary sessions on Innovations in Science & Technology and Solving Global Challenges. Admitted participants will have access to pre-recorded videos before the start of the program and attend live sessions. There is no tuition cost to participate in the program. Leading House Africa — Seasonal Schools for African PhD Students

Leading House Africa seeks to promote research cooperation between Swiss and African PhD students of higher education institutions in seasonal schools. Leading House seeks Seasonal Schools in Switzerland to sponsor African participants for a PhD graduate program. Eligible applicants are organizers of seasonal schools (e.g. summer schools) in or outside of Switzerland affiliation to a Swiss Institution of Higher Education. Save Our Seas Foundation — Ocean Storytelling Writing Grant

The Save Our Seas Foundation (SOS) Ocean Storytelling Writing Grant supports conservation storytellers. SOS is looking for writers who can tell conservation stories about the oceans, from the animals themselves, to fisheries, to the communities whose lives are intertwined with marine life. Story topics can range from the animals themselves, to fisheries to the communities whose lives are intertwined with marine life. Successful grantees will receive a paid assignment to cover a conservation story. Rockefeller Foundation & Acumen — Food Systems Fellowship

Acumen, with funding from the Rockefeller Foundation, invites students from all around the world to submit innovative solutions to tackle the greatest food systems challenges. The Rockefeller Foundation-Acumen Food Systems Fellowship is an intensive, one-year leadership development program for food systems leaders who are creating more inclusive, nourishing and regenerative food systems. Eligibility extends to individuals who demonstrate experience in building inclusive food systems. 100,000 Strong in the Americas — Cacao for Peace Innovation Fund

The Cacao for Peace Innovation Fund Grant Competition is designed to create and implement new student/faculty exchange and training programs in areas related to the cocoa value chain. Proposals must propose a research project focused on the cacao sector. The Innovation Fund intends to award up to eight grants of US$25 thousand. SEED — Starter Workshop for Eco-Enterprises in Thailand

The SEED Starter Program offers workshops to guide young entrepreneurs from early stages of ideation to the generation of a viable business plan. SEED Starter invites applications from teams who develop green and inclusive business solutions to key social and environmental challenges in Thailand. Participation in the workshops is free, although participants need to cover their transportation costs and accommodation. All SEED Starter participants consist of a team of 2-5 members. SOAS University of London — Open Online Courses

SOAS University offers free massive open online courses (MOOCs) to get an introduction in a new subject. MOOCs are general level courses that require only one to two hours commitment each week. Courses include one on Global Energy and Climate Policy as well as other thematic areas in the broad scope of Global Diplomacy. Courses are online and self-paced. Link to available courses

Media Foundation for West Africa — Climate Change Journalism Fellowship

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) accepts applications for the Climate Change Journalism Fellowship. The aim is to train and capacitate local journalists to report on the climate change crisis and how it is affecting the lives and livelihoods in African countries. Fellows will work remotely from their home countries and participate in virtual training workshops, seminars, and speaking engagements. The opportunity is open to journalists from Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Togo, Benin, Guinea, and Mali. The deadline for application is 30 September 2022. SEED and Go4SDGs organize the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Future Lab for Innovation and Policy. The Lab will discuss practical solutions and exemplary cases for the industry’s challenges.
