Fast Forward — Tech Accelerator

The Fast Forward invites applications for the Accelerator Program to support and scale tech nonprofits. Tech innovations may include agri-tech or clean energy, among others. Selected entrepreneurs receive a US$25 thousand grant, mentorship, and connections to people who can help their innovation scale. The accelerator is open to tech nonprofits from around the world. JPI Climate — Climate Services for Risk Reduction in West Africa

The Climate Services for Risk Reduction in West Africa (CS4RRA) aims to support interdisciplinary projects that enhance climate resilience across 16 West African countries. With funding of up to €2 million per project for durations of up to 36 months, the call targets initiatives that improve early warning systems, assess climate security risks, and integrate climate services into policy and financing mechanisms. Eligible consortia must include at least two institutions from different West African countries and one European partner, with the coordinator based in West Africa. Nippon Foundation — Ocean Fellowship

The United Nations–Nippon Foundation Fellowship provides government officials and other mid-level professionals from developing states with advanced training on ocean affairs and the law of the sea. The 9-month fellowship program is composed of two consecutive phases which provide fellows with advanced and customized research and training opportunities. Fellows will receive a stipend each month during their fellowship. The stipend is intended to cover the cost of lodging, boarding, and other essentials such as local transport. In addition to the stipend, fellows will be provided with a book allowance of US$100 per month. Candidates must be between the ages of 25 and 40. Vital Impacts — Environmental Photography Grant

The Vital Impacts Environmental Photography Grant offers one US$20 thousand grant for an established photographer and six US$5 thousand grants for emerging photographers to support 12-month documentary projects focused on local, solution-oriented environmental or wildlife conservation stories. Eligible applicants must be community-rooted photojournalists who collaborate with local stakeholders. The deadline for submission is 15 September 2025. Environmental Photography Grant

International Iguana Foundation — Grants for Iguana Conservation

The International Iguana Foundation makes grants to promote and enable iguana conservation. Preference will be given to projects that are components of approved species recovery plans; projects that directly contribute to the survival of endangered iguanas and their habitats; and projects that are part of an established conservation program. The Foundation looks for projects that have participation from range-countries and matching funds. Small-tier grants provide up to US$10 thousand over 1 year. International Development Research Centre — Indigenous Research Leadership

The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) funds up to seven grants of CA$100 thousand each to support 12‑month, knowledge‑sharing projects between Indigenous-led or Indigenous‑supporting organizations in the Global South. Applicants must be legally established non‑profits, public research institutes, universities, or think tanks based in eligible Global South regions (including Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, Middle East, North Africa). Royal Academy of Engineering — Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation

The Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation awards commercialization support to African innovators developing scalable engineering solutions to local challenges. (Note: This may include one or more thematic areas covered by the Terra Viva Grants Directory). The winner will receive £25 thousand, three runners-up will be awarded £10 thousand each. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — World Soil Day Award

The World Soil Day Award (WSDA) recognizes individuals and/or institutions that have made an effort to organize successful celebrations in the framework of the World Soil Day campaign of the previous year. The award consists of US$15 thousand and a trip to Thailand. The award is open to individuals, non-profit organizations, universities, and private companies. German Academic Exchange Service — Co-funded Research Grants

DAAD co-funds research grants for qualified applicants from Brazil. The aim of the program is to promote research projects within the context of doctoral studies. The program accepts doctoral candidates at universities in Brazil, who have been awarded a domestic scholarship from CAPES (Co-funder). Subject areas include natural sciences and agriculture, among others. The domestic doctoral scholarships will be paid by CAPES during the research stay in Germany, and DAAD will co-fund a monthly payment of €650, health, accident, and personal liability insurance cover, and travel allowance. The application deadline is 09 September 2025 (for a research stay between May 2026 and January 2027). Find out more

TREE Fund — Building Bridges Initiative

The Building Bridges Initiative helps arborists and urban foresters communicate the value of trees and urban forests through engagement via collaborative research and other projects with public works officials, risk assessment professionals, civil engineers, wildlife researchers, soil scientists, and others. The maximum award value of grants is US$30 thousand. TREE Fund welcomes research proposals and applications from a wide range of academic and technical disciplines, of both a qualitative and a quantitative nature.
