The National Geographic Society seeks proposals from around the world that will advance innovative conservation technologies to explore, visualize, and protect the planet. Priority will be given to projects that use multi-sensor monitoring systems, advance surveillance/alarm systems for protected areas, or develop new tools and capabilities needed to generate data. Pesticide Action Network (PAN) Africa — Small Grants for Organizations in Africa
PAN is an advisor to the Global Greengrants Fund (GGF) for grants to civil society in subjects of environment and sustainable development. PAN Africa invites African organizations to submit short proposals that may qualify for GGF support. Areas important to PAN include projects on the themes of Water Resources; Climate Changes; Sustainable Agriculture; and the Protection of Forests. Proposals should include project objectives, methodology, expected results, and an activities budget. The requested contribution should not exceed US$3,500. Disney Conservation Fund — Annual Conservation Grants 2019
The Disney Conservation Fund makes grants for wildlife studies, habitat protection, and community conservation and education in critical ecosystems around the world. DCF supports projects that build on previous work, and that have the potential to contribute to long-term conservation. Eligibility extends to U.S. nonprofit organizations. Applicants from other countries need to apply in collaboration with U.S. nonprofit partners. Grants are up to US$50 thousand for projects of up to two years. Strategic Support Program for Scientific Research — Call for Research Projects in Agriculture and Health
The Strategic Support Program for Scientific Research (PASRES) of Côte d’Ivoire and the Uganda Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) launch a call for joint research projects in the fields of Agriculture and Health. Proposals for scientific research should focus on agriculture and plant health (crop diseases, livestock and fisheries) or Environment and Human Health (resilience of populations to the effects of climate change). Projects will receive US$50 thousand in funding for one year. To be eligible, research partnerships must involve researchers from both countries (one from Côte d’Ivoire and the other from Uganda). Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation — New Approaches for Inclusive Agricultural Transformation
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation seeks new approaches for strategic prioritization of agricultural development policies. Proposed solutions must be relevant and applicable in Nigeria, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. Selected early-stage projects will receive US$100 thousand and have one opportunity to apply for a follow-on award of up to US$1 million. École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne — Seed Money for Projects 2019
EPFL’s seed money grants are allocated to promote the creation and launch of new projects of scientific cooperation with partners from emerging and developing countries. The problems addressed in the proposal must be related to development issues and to the main challenges faced by the respective emerging and developing country. Project categories may include one or more areas of interest relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory. The maximum funding per project is CHF 20 thousand per year. The student micro-project program offers students in the Wallonia region of Belgium the opportunity to set up a project in partnership with students from a developing country. American Society for Microbiology — Visiting Research Professorships in Microbiology
American Society for Microbiology (ASM), in partnership with the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF), announces the ASM-IUSSTF Indo-US Professorship in Microbiology. This program seeks to broaden scientific collaboration between India and the United States though travel grants that support research and teaching partnerships. The Association of Field Ornithologists (AFO) is dedicated to the scientific study and dissemination of information about birds in their natural habitats. The Alexander Bergstrom Memorial Research Awards support avian research in the U.S./Canada and Latin America. Grants are up to US$1,500. Research Council of Norway — Arctic Field Research
The Svalbard Science Forum (SSF) promotes research activities in Svalbard and administrates funding programs to stimulate data collection and inter-disciplinary as well as international cooperation. Students and researchers can apply for arctic field grants and seed money for workshops and collaborative activities.
