The PTES makes grants to scientific researchers and conservationists worldwide for work that helps preserve endangered species, either through research or applied field work. (Note: PTES no longer accepts grant applications for research and conservation of bird species.) The program offers small grants between £3 thousand and £10 thousand per year for up to two years. Funds will be awarded for work that aims to generate the scientific evidence that will facilitate the conservation of a species. PTES only accepts grant requests from applicants already working and established in either the UK, UK overseas territories or any country not classified by the World Bank as high-income. German Academic Exchange Service — Bilateral Exchange for Postdoctoral Researchers
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports exchanges of scientists and academics from partner countries for bilateral research projects in Germany. Foreign academics and scientists with doctoral degrees who work at a university or research institute in EU countries, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, and Ukraine are eligible to apply. North Atlantic Treaty Organization — Women & Girls in Science
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization aims to inspire young women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by providing a platform for them to share innovative research ideas that impact global security and defence. The Women & Girls in Science 2025 (WGS25) challenge invites young women and girls to submit visionary research proposals addressing pressing challenges in the field of security and defence research. The challenge is open to university students (bachelor, master, PhD), early career researchers, or individuals interested in starting a career in STEM and/or defence. The TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Program invites postdoctoral researchers in Sub-Saharan Africa to make cooperation visits to institutes in Germany. The visits are limited to three months, with the aim of promoting longer-term collaboration. The German Research Foundation will cover travel expenses and provide subsistence costs for the stay in Germany. Preference is given to young PhD-level scientists, particularly women. The Hawk Migration Association of North America Research Award supports field studies relating to raptor migration ecology and behavior, population monitoring, and conservation. Up to two proposals with a total value of US$1 thousand each will be funded per year. UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science — Research Support
The UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP) invites innovative research proposals. The program seeks to advance rain enhancement science and technology, focusing on five key areas: enhanced seeding materials, rain enhancement systems, autonomous aerial systems, localized climate intervention, and advanced models, software, and data. Eligible applicants include domestic and international public or private, non-profit or for-profit organizations, and individuals. Proposals are evaluated based on scientific merit, project plan, team qualifications, resource availability, and capacity building. West African Research Association — Residency Fellowship
The West African Research Association, (WARA) offers Residencies for WARA member institutions to host a West African Scholar on their campus. Each residency will last 4-8 weeks. WARA will pay the round-trip travel costs of the selected scholar as well as a stipend of US$3500 to help cover meals and local transportation costs.
