Scientists in Brazil, Thailand, and Turkey are invited to apply for the Royal Society’s mobility grants to establish or strengthen research partnerships with collaborators in the UK. These grants are available through the Newton Fund, which is part of the UK’s official development assistance. Awards are available for up to three months, one year, or two years. Up to £12 thousand are available under this scheme. Applicants can represent any areas of the natural sciences, including agricultural and biological sciences. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent research experience, and have a permanent position or fixed-term contract in an eligible university or research institute. Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education — Calls for Joint Proposals on Food and Nutrition Security
Nuffic invites applications for Joint Proposals on Food and Nutrition in Vietnam, Tunisia, Sahel, Mali, and Benin. The Nuffic’s Orange Knowledge Programme aims to strengthen professionals and organisations through education and training. Proposed projects must contribute to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, promote sustainable agriculture, and ensure availability and sustainable management of water for all. Belmont Forum — Sustainability of Soils and Groundwater
The Belmont Forum calls for collaborative research action on the theme: Towards Sustainability of Soils and Groundwater for Society. Research projects may address any terrestrial ecosystems, which are facing ongoing or predicted future degradation of their soil or groundwater systems. Please note that this call does not focus on agricultural soil management or the restoration of degraded ecosystems and their biodiversity. Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research — Travel Support to Attend Meetings and Conferences
The Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) provides travel support for scientists from low- to medium-income countries to attend ocean science meetings. The purpose of this support is to help scientists, particularly early-career scientists, to network with colleagues from other countries, share their research, and form partnerships in the global ocean science community. University St. Gallen — Latin America Mobility Grants 2020
The Mobility Grants aim to encourage researchers from Swiss institutions to boost their careers with a research stay (and fieldwork) in Latin America. Grants up to CHF7 thousand will be awarded to cover travel expenses, accommodation, consumables, and fieldwork. Researchers enrolled in a program in any scientific discipline and field in Switzerland can apply for a grant regardless of their nationality. The deadline for applications is 25 May 2020. This year’s call focuses on four specific SDGs: (1) Good health and well-being; (2) Clean water and sanitation; (3) Sustainable cities and communities; and (4) Climate action. The maximum funding amount per project is CHF 25 thousand. EUREKA Globalstars invites proposals for collaborative industry-led R&D projects within the scope “Key Enabling Technologies for Healthcare, Agriculture and Water.” Collaborative research projects should apply key enabling technologies to tackle challenges in healthcare, agriculture or water, resulting in accessible and marketable solutions. Research teams must include at least one Indian organization, one Swiss company and one Swiss research organization. In Switzerland, a total of CHF 1 million is available for grants. Mekong Institute – Mekong Cooperation Fund
The Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund seeks applications for the implementation of cooperation activities in Mekong countries (Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Laos). The Fund provides grants of up to US$300 thousand for regional projects. Eligible project areas include agriculture and rural development, and environment, among others. Applications are invited from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions. Development banks and individuals are not eligible.
