Compassion in World Farming International accepts applications for three different types of grants to organizations who are invested in improving farm animal welfare in Indonesia, Japan or South Korea. Training Grants (US$4,000) to support individuals and organizations in growing their capacity, Organization Development Grants (US$7,000) to establish or expand the ability to advocate for farm animals, and Campaigning Grants (US$9,000) to cover the costs of delivering campaigns which advocate for regional, national or local government action. Applicants may be individuals, charities or non-profit organizations who work within areas such as farm animal advocacy, climate change and environmental protection. Centre for the Study of Biodiversity in Amazonia — Call for Proposals 2022
The Centre for the Study of Biodiversity in Amazonia (CEBA) is a French Laboratory of Excellence based in French Guiana to foster knowledge on terrestrial biodiversity in Amazonia. CEBA coordinates research capacity in France on the topic of Amazonian terrestrial biodiversity. Proposed projects must work towards a co-construction of projects between CEBA’s scientific teams and civil society organizations in order to encourage these synergies and promote a more direct transfer of knowledge from science to society. We Effect’s Regional Office for Southern Africa (ROSA) invites local civil society organizations to submit concept notes to be partner organizations in the agriculture and housing sectors. Partnering organizations deliver or support programs and projects to enable people living in poverty to improve their living conditions. Potential partners should be operating in one of the following countries: Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. Initiative for Climate Action Transparency — Methodology of Climate Finance
The Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT) seeks a grantee to develop a methodology that supports the tracking of climate finance at the national level, links climate action to climate finance, and enables the integration of such data in a country’s transparency framework. The grantee will also provide technical support to up to three developing countries in developing a national framework to assess the climate finance needed. U.S. Mission to Pakistan — Addressing Environment Protection and Climate Change to Promote Tourism
The U.S. Consulate announces funding to increase environmental awareness among people in Pakistan and address threats to the local environment and the impact that those threats may have on economic development. The project aims to better equip citizens in the northern areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with strategies to protect the environment and make the area more attractive to regional and international tourists. The grantee will carry out research on best practices for citizen activism and sustainable environmental tourism, with a particular focus on U.S. best practices. U.S. Department of State — Protecting the Rights of Environmental Defenders in Africa
The U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations interested in protecting the freedoms of expression and association of environmental defenders in Africa. Proposed projects should seek to elevate local community and grassroots-based activists and improve their capacity to strategically and effectively use advocacy and litigation tools to achieve changes in policy and practices. Projects should seek to target up to three countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, with at least one focus country being Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Tanzania, or Nigeria. Total funding is up to US$1 million. The DRL welcomes applications from US-based and foreign-based non-profit organizations, institutions of higher education; and for-profit organizations. The Public Diplomacy Grants Program aims to promote positive relations between Morocco and the United States and help Moroccan youth (aged 14-25) build and develop skills to improve their potential through innovative science (especially environmental and health awareness), technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) programs. The European Commission (EC) accepts proposals for the agro-ecological approaches in African agriculture systems grant program. The implementation of agro-ecological approaches will alleviate the pressure that agri-food production places on natural ecosystems, contributing to resilience of agri-food systems and facilitating nature-based responses to current and future agri-food risks and threats. Proposals should build on existing and develop new knowledge, data, and models. Applicants must be established in EU Member States or low- and middle-income countries. European Commission — Biodiversity in Outermost Regions
The European Commission (EC) announces a call for proposals to finance small grants for biodiversity conservation and restoration action in the EU outermost regions and overseas countries located in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Amazon, Pacific, Polar and Subpolar and Micronesian regions. The available overall budget is €32 million. In order to be eligible, the applicants must be legal entities, be established in EU Member States or overseas countries and territories and be active in the areas of nature conservation and climate change.
