Women4Biodiversity — Biodiversity Photo Contest

The She Shapes Biodiversity photo contest aims to celebrate women’s contributions to the environment. Participants can submit a maximum of 3 entries under the “she shapes biodiversity”, showing women’s role in protecting or restoring biodiversity. The top 5 photographers will receive €200 each. Global Landscapes Forum — Seed Funding to Protect and Restore Forests

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLFx) provides seed funding to protect and restore forest areas in Africa. Applications run through GLF chapters, groups of local change agents that mobilize their communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable landscape restoration. Selected chapters will receive a seed fund of €5 thousand to run chapter activities such as community training, workshops and toolkits to facilitate the implementation of community action plans. Earth Journalism Network — Environmental Justice Reporting

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in the Asia-Pacific region, to support the production of in-depth stories on environmental and climate injustice. EJN plans to make 20 story grants of US$1,000 each to youth journalists aged 30 and below to produce innovative and engaging stories on environmental and climate issues in the region.  The application deadline is 05 October 2022. SEED and Go4SDGs — Webinar: LAC Future Lab

SEED and Go4SDGs organize the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Future Lab for Innovation and Policy. The LAC Future Lab offers a platform to develop future-proof solutions for challenges in the agri-food sector. The Lab will discuss practical solutions and exemplary cases for the industry’s challenges. The Future Lab targets green SMEs and organizations, who work at the interface of business, civil society and politics supporting green SMEs or circular economy solutions. Oxford University — Visiting Fellowship Program

The AfOx Visiting Fellowship Program is designed to provide African researchers an opportunity to build international networks and focus on a project of their choice. The Fellowship provides fellows with an opportunity to work on a project in collaboration with Oxford-based scholars, while benefiting from the resources available at Oxford University for research, writing, networking. GreenTech — Latin America Event

Greentech Business is a platform of technological solution research with a high potential of positive impact on environmental problems. The fourth edition of GreenTech América Latina seeks innovative sustainable technologies start-ups who seek to advance towards decarbonization. By registering solutions on the platform, inventors gain global reach and visibility, and will automatically be participating in the selection process to present their company at the GreenTech América Latina 2022 event. Greater Mekong Subregion Secretariat — Agriculture and Food Security Program

The Greater Mekong Subregion Secretariat invites applications for demonstration pilots of innovative technologies to supply safe and climate-friendly agri-food products in Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam. Proposed demonstration projects should not exceed US$100 thousand. Government departments, civil society organizations, private companies, universities and research institutes can apply. The World Around — Young Climate Prize

The World Around launches an open call for applications to the Young Climate Prize. World Around seeks young people who are working on their own self-started projects that address, draw attention to or mitigate climate change in their communities. The program will provide visibility, support and mentorship for 25 of the world’s most talented and passionate climate designers. Anyone aged 13-25 from anywhere in the world can submit their work. Global Biodiversity Information Facility — Management of Specimen Data

The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) is developing a new data model to enable the publication of richer, more complex types of biodiversity data in the future. Therefore, GBIF seeks pilot projects showcasing how an emerging unified data model can improve how data derived from specimens in scientific collections are represented in GBIF. Applicants selected through this call for proposals will work with the Secretariat to populate a pilot database used to demonstrate a queryable online specimen catalog. Applicants can seek financial support of up to €3,000. Applications must be submitted by 02 October 2022. Link

Vital Voices — Fellowships for Women Entrepreneurs

Vital Voices offers GROW Fellowships to women entrepreneurs who own small and medium-sized businesses. The program includes customized business skills training, technical assistance, leadership development, and access to networks to grow their businesses. Thematic business areas may include agriculture, fisheries and forestry with potential for growth. A limited number of need and merit-based scholarships will be available.
