SNV invites the private sector to develop products, services, and business models that contribute to the fight against poverty and climate change. The program is designed for companies which are operational or plan to enter the market (with a local partner in case of international companies) in any of energy; water and sanitation; agriculture and food; and cross-sectoral. The call is designed for companies that are operational in Cambodia, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Zambia. The program provides advisory support and non-reimbursable funding for up to 49% of total investment ranging from €50 thousand to €200 thousand. U.S. Agency for International Development — Development Activities across the Indo-Pacific region
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified U.S. and Non-U.S. organizations to fund a program entitled “India Development Partnership Activity”. USAID aims to implement a joint partnership between the US Government and the Government of India with the goal to implement and finance development activities across the Indo-Pacific region. To achieve this goal, USAID intends to provide up to US$18 million in total funding. USAID will award one Cooperative Agreement over a five (5) year period. This funding opportunity is open to US and foreign non-governmental organizations, including foundations, institutions of higher education, consortiums and public international organizations. Royal Society — Fellowships for Independent African Researchers
The Royal Society, in partnership with the African Academy of Sciences, offers fellowships to African early-career researchers who have the potential to become leaders in their field. Each FLAIR Fellowship will be for two years and will offer up to £150 thousand per year, alongside training and mentoring. Applications should be within the remit of natural sciences, including agricultural and biological research, among others. The Africa Young Entrepreneur Support (YES) Program is a 6-month intensive fully sponsored entrepreneurship training that provides young African social entrepreneurs (between 18-29 years) with the resources they need to create impact in their local communities. 30 selected candidates will receive hands-on training sessions, mentorship and access to up to US$15 thousand in grants. Nuffic invites applications for Joint Proposals on Food and Nutrition in Vietnam, Tunisia, Sahel, Mali, and Benin. The Nuffic’s Orange Knowledge Programme aims to strengthen professionals and organisations through education and training. The goal of the Jordan-UK El Hassan bin Talal Research Chair in Sustainability is to enhance the research and innovation capacity of Jordan for long-term sustainable development. The call is open to applicants with expertise in any area relevant to sustainability, including but not limited to food security, water, energy and the environment, climate change, and sustainable livelihoods. U.S. Agency for International Development — Development of Food Security Activities in Ethiopia
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for funding for the development of food security activities in Ethiopia. USAID plans to award up to four cooperative agreements with the goal to improve food security of vulnerable households in targeted communities, contributing to a sustained reduction in rural poverty. The Mobility Grants aim to encourage researchers from Swiss institutions to boost their careers with a research stay (and fieldwork) in Latin America. Grants up to CHF7 thousand will be awarded to cover travel expenses, accommodation, consumables, and fieldwork. U.S. Department of State — Air Quality Management in Southeast Asia
The Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, U.S. State Department, announces the “Building Air Quality Management Capacity in Southeast Asia” program. The project targets government entities with the intend to strengthen regulatory and monitoring capacity of government actors and expand awareness of air quality issues in Southeast Asian countries. The program intends to provide US$296,296 in funding to be used for the production of educational materials, expert workshops, and the development of a monitoring and evaluation plan to be used by key agencies. Countries eligible for funding under this award include: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
