Flywire Charitable Foundation — Scholarship Program

The Flywire Charitable Foundation aims to improve equality, access and affordability for underrepresented individuals and communities. For the 2023 academic year, sixteen scholarships of US$5,000 each will be awarded. The Environmental Sustainability scholarship recognizes students who work to protect the environment and pioneer sustainability initiatives. United Nations University — Research Fellowship in Biotechnology

United Nations University accepts applications for the Biotechnology Fellowship Program to build biotechnology capacities within Latin America and the Caribbean region. Each UNU-BIOLAC fellow is expected to perform specialized research at a laboratory in the LAC region for no more than three months. To perform their research fellowship, each funded fellow will receive a single stipend of US$4000 for travel and living expenses. European Commission — Civil Society Development in Pacific Island Countries

The European Commission (EC) aims to promote capacity development of local civil society in the Pacific Island Countries. The action aims to contribute to contribute to the achievement of the following SDGs: 1 (No Poverty), 5 (Gender Equality),6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 8 (Decent work and economic growth), 10 (Reduced inequalities), 13 (Climate Action) and 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). Applicants may request between €150 thousand to €600 thousand in project funding. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations. The deadline for submission of concept notes is 13 June 2023. U.S. Department of State — Women in Agriculture

The U.S. Government seeks to support projects that secure economic security of women in agriculture in Tunisia. Funds are available to support projects that empower previously marginalized women working in agricultural cooperatives to use innovative technical and entrepreneurial approaches to mitigate the impacts of climate change, increase profitability, and protect against food insecurity. The estimated award is US$1.5 million per year over the course of 3 years. Eligible applicants include U.S. or foreign non-profit organizations; institutions of higher education; international organizations; and small businesses. European Geosciences Union — Science Journalism Fellowship

The European Geosciences Union (EGU) accepts applications for the Science Journalism Fellowship competition. The fellowships enable journalists to report, in any European language, on ongoing research in the Earth, planetary or space sciences. UK Government — Illegal Wildlife Trade Challenge Fund

The Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT) Challenge Fund provides funding to innovative and scalable solutions to reduce pressure on wildlife from illegal trade and reduce poverty in developing countries. Proposals must align to one or more of the four project themes: (1) Reducing demand; (2) Ensuring effective legal frameworks; (3) Strengthening law enforcement; and (4) Developing sustainable livelihoods. The IWT Challenge Fund supports projects with different grant sizes depending on each project stage, ranging from £20 thousand to £1.5 million. U.S. African Development Foundation — Financing for Agriculture

The U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF) invites applications from registered African agricultural cooperatives and enterprises for grant financing. Grants will support solutions that increase revenues, create jobs, improve farmer incomes, and achieve sustainable market-based growth. USADF accepts applications in Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cote d’Ivoire, DRC, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. Applicants can request no more than US$250 thousand. The European Commission (EC) aims to empower civil society in the Pacific Island countries to influence policy and decision making processes. The priority areas for this call for proposals are community adaptation and resilience to climate change, economic empowerment (e.g., preserving economic livelihoods through small-scale farming), and supporting youth. Save Our Seas Foundation — Small Grants 2022

Save Our Seas makes grants for marine research, conservation, and education worldwide. Only projects concerned with marine chondrichthyan species (sharks, rays, skates, sawfishes and chimaeras) will be considered. United States Agency for International Development — Climate Resilient Agriculture

The United States Agency for International Development in Vietnam (USAID) seeks applications from qualified entities to implement the USAID Climate Resilient Agriculture in the Mekong Delta. The purpose of the program is to advance low-emissions, climate-resilient agricultural livelihoods combined with biodiversity conservation to support carbon sequestration, healthy ecosystems, and resilience of vulnerable communities. USAID intends to provide up to US$48 million in total funding over a five-year period. Eligibility is not restricted. The closing date for applications is 26 June 2023. Link
