World Food Forum — Startup Innovation Awards

The World Food Forum Startup Innovation Awards is a global startup competition to support and showcase innovators and entrepreneurs who harness technology to drive the sustainable transformation of agrifood systems in support of ending global hunger. The World Food Forum seeks applications for the 2023 Extreme Tech Challenge. The competition is open to companies whose work impacts an element of agrifood systems: production, aggregation, processing, distribution, consumption and disposal of food products. The Awards provide finalists and award winners the potential for global visibility, the ability to raise capital. The closing date for applications is 15 June 2023. People and Conservation Learning Group — Small Grants for Great Ape Conservation

The People and Conservation Learning Group (PCLG) supports collaboration and learning between conservation, development and rights focused organizations in three great ape range states. Applicants will be able to apply for grants up to US$7,500 to support people and great ape conservation in three great ape range states: Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. FONTAGRO — Innovations in Bioeconomy

FONTAGRO announces a contest of successful cases of innovations in Bioeconomy to identify successful experiences and lessons learned that contribute to a better understanding of the transformation of agri-food systems in Latin America and the Caribbean. Producer associations and other private sector organizations, including non-profit organizations are eligible to apply. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Smallholder Economic Empowerment

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) intends to allocate grant funds for the implementation of the grant Smallholder Economic Empowerment through Digital Solutions program. Interested applicants are invited to submit a proposal for the services required for the implementation of the program. RELX Group — Environmental Challenge in Water and Sanitation 2023

The RELX Group sponsors the RELX Group Environmental Challenge to recognize projects worldwide that best demonstrate sustainable access to safe water and/or access to improved sanitation. The challenge is open to individuals and organizations (profit and non-profit). Projects must advance sustainable access to safe water where it is presently at risk, and/or access to improved sanitation. The first prize is US$50 thousand; second prize is US$25 thousand. The Biodiversity Excellence Awards for Conservation Heroes (BEACH) honors outstanding individuals and organizations for their contributions to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development within the Caribbean. International Development Research Centre — Regional Research Networks

The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) announces a call for full proposals for the selection of regional research hubs to advance skills and policies for an inclusive and sustainable future of work. This initiative supports high-quality, innovative and gender responsive research that addresses key Future of Work challenges, including climate-resilient food systems. Regional research hubs can submit budget requests of up to a maximum of CA$1.7 million. IDRC is expecting to fund 5 regional research hubs in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA and LAC. L’Oreal and UNESCO — Women in Science International Awards

The Women in Science International Awards designates five outstanding researchers in Life and Environmental Sciences, each working in one of the following regions: Africa and the Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America. Each of the Laureates will receive €100 thousand. The candidate must be actively involved in scientific research in any field of Life and Environmental Sciences. North American Association for Environmental Education — STEM Education

The North American Association for Environmental Education offers a grant opportunity in E-STEM education to solve environmental issues. The Pratt & Whitney E-STEM Awards support new and existing programs that engage students in meaningful STEM learning experiences through environmental problem solving. The E-STEM Innovation Grants provide funding of up to US$15 thousand USD for new or enhanced programs, and the Global E-STEM Excellence Prize awards up to US$50 thousand to nonprofit organizations. United Nations Environment Programme — Pilot Cities for Urban Ecosystem Restoration

The United Nations Environment Program seeks cities interested in starting or scaling up ecosystem restoration efforts. The program will support eight pilot cities with grants of US$ 50 thousand to US$100 thousand to develop innovative policy approaches, and initiate implementation of urban ecosystem restoration and nature-based solutions implementation.
