Indian National Academy of Sciences — JRD-Tata Fellowships for Visiting Scientists from Developing Countries
India’s National Science Academy administers the JRD-Tata Fellowships to support visiting scientists from the developing world and promote South-South cooperation. The program is open to applicants from developing countries (except India) younger than age 45, and who possess doctorate or masters degrees in science or equivalent degrees in engineering/medicine. Past participants have included several in agriculture, biological sciences, and geo-sciences. The fellowship is for three months and includes transportation, maintenance allowance, accommodation, and contingencies. The application deadlines are 30 April and 31 October of each year. Asian Development Bank — Pacific Development Research Partnership
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) supports research proposals from early-career economists to conduct microeconomic development research in the Pacific. This call for proposals is limited to economists whose research focus is on the microeconomics of development, who are experienced in using micro-econometric methods, and who are experienced in using microdata. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) launches an introductory biodiversity course for journalists – “From Microbes to Rainforests”. The online course is self-paced and designed to help journalists reporting on biodiversity to better understand the most pressing issues, from conservation to climate change to synthetic biology. The World Bank Group seeks applications for the Youth Summit 2022 under the theme “Unlocking the Power of Inclusion for Equitable Growth”. The Summit empowers youth to explore innovative ideas to social, environmental, and economic challenges. Earth Journalism Network — Reporting on Climate Change in Kenya
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in Kenya to support the production of in-depth stories on the impacts of climate change. EJN welcomes story ideas that focus on the short- and long-term consequences of environmental destruction and other drivers of climate change. The Networks expects to award up to 10 grants with an average budget of US$800 each. The UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in the Basic Sciences aims to promote and honor excellence in the basic sciences (chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biology). Each year, two winners receive a financial award of US$250 thousand each. UNESCO invites the governments of Member States, organizations maintaining official partnerships with UNESCO, international scientific unions and universities to propose individual candidates for the 2022 edition.
