The Wilson Center Latin America Fellowship Program 2019/2020 seeks applications to conduct research about and propose concrete solutions to the range of environmental threats faced by countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The residential fellowship will take place at the Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. (USA). Fellows are provided with a monthly stipend for a stay of 4-6 months. Applicants must be citizens of a Latin American or Caribbean country and have an undergraduate or graduate degree and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience. International Tree Foundation — Sustainable Community Forestry Program
The International Tree Foundation makes grants through its Sustainable Community Forestry Program to conserve and restore local forest resources and associated biodiversity; improve local livelihoods; and increase local resilience to climate change. ITF welcomes applications for community tree projects that take place in Commonwealth countries of Africa. National Geographic Society — Amazon Conservation Capacity
The National Geographic Society supports projects that empower community-based organizations and Indigenous Peoples groups engaged in forest conservation and sustainable forest management. This call supports the development and implementation of conservation programs, capacity building activities, and networking initiatives focused on achieving conservation objectives. Community projects with focus on ecotourism or climate-smart forest management practices are welcome. Applicants may request up to US$150 thousand. The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) offers seed funding to support the exchange of researchers under the program “São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration” (SPRINT). The 3/2019 call seeks collaborations with selected partner research organizations in Austria, UK, Canada, Colombia, Belgium, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, and United States. The fields of joint research interest include environment, energy, and others — varying with each partnership. Australian Government — Australian Aid: Friendship Grants (Round 2)
The Australian Aid: Friendship Grants program supports organisations from across Australia and provides funding for aid activities in the Indo-Pacific. Eligible Australian community organisations are encouraged to apply for funding of AU$30 thousand to AU$60 thousand in three annual grant rounds. The program funds development activities that strengthen an overseas community’s capacity or socio-economic situation and improve the lives of poor and vulnerable people. Australian Government — Direct Assistance Program 2019-2020
The Direct Assistance Program (PAD) is a small development program which works directly with communities in developing countries. The current call for proposals is open to local community organizations in Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, and Guinea-Bissau. Projects can request funding of up to €15 thousand. Climate Chance — Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019
Climate Chance opens the call for proposals for the Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019. The call is open to local authorities, businesses, NGOs, trade unions, scientists, representatives from agricultural, youth, women and indigenous organisations, educators and citizens. Initiatives corresponding to many themes will be considered: Access to climate finance in Africa; Developing African cities in a sustainable way; Agriculture, food and reforestation in Africa; Renewable energy and energy efficiency in Africa; Adaptation and Water in Africa; Education and Training on Climate Change in Africa; and others. Forest and Farm Facility — Call for Proposals 2019
The Forest and Farm Facility together with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and AgriCord launched the call for proposals to support regional and global forest and farm producer organizations to enable climate resilient landscapes and improved livelihoods. There will be one grant for a regional organization based in Africa, one in Asia and one in Latin America. U.S. Department of State — YSEALI Academic Fellowship
The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders in the ASEAN countries. The YSEALI Academic Fellowship offer support to participate in a five-week institute on the campus of a U.S. university or college in one of the following topics: civil engagement; environmental issues; or social entrepreneurship and economic development. The fellowships include leadership development, an educational study tour, local community service activities, and opportunities to engage with peers in the USA. RMTI University — Scholarships 2019
The RMTI University offers scholarships for international students undertaking a degree at the University’s College of Science, Engineering and Health. Courses in the Science department include environmental science, food science, biological sciences, among others. Eligible candidates must be citizens of Indonesia, Malaysia or Singapore that achieve a minimum of 70% average in their highest level of education award.
