U.S. Mission to India — Environment-focused Short Film Contest and Festival
The U.S. Mission to India seeks to promote climate action by encouraging climate-conscious citizens to create films that spur wider awareness and inspire community action. Therefore, the U.S. Consulate General of Mumbai seeks a partner that will organize film-making workshops, a crowd-sourced film contest, and execute follow-on activities to involve youth and civil society in environment conservation. The estimated total project funding is US$40 thousand. Cultural Survival — Indigenous Community Media Fund
The Indigenous Community Media Fund provides opportunities for Indigenous community radio stations and media outlets to strengthen their broadcast infrastructure and systems. Indigenous community radio stations can apply for a grant of up to US$6 thousand. Radio networks represented by at least three or more Indigenous radio stations can apply for funding of up to US$12 thousand. Proposed projects must be completed within a period of 6 to 10 months. Indigenous communities in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and Malaysia are eligible to apply. Nordic Environment Finance Corporation — Baltic Sea Action Plan Fund
The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) announces the applications for Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) Fund. The Baltic Sea Action Plan Fund supports projects that will benefit the ecological well being of the Baltic Sea. The fund finances new initiatives and support activities across the Baltic Sea region including Estonia, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and Belarus. European Commission — Adaptation to Climate Change
The “Boosting Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Change (BREACH)” program has the objective to increase systemic resilience to climate change and food crises in Somalia. The European Commission calls for proposals that improve prevention of and preparedness for food crises in communities in vulnerable situations, achieve durable solutions to displacement, and combat the climate crisis through reforestation and land restoration. Letten Foundation — Prize for Young Researchers
The Letten Prize is an international prize for young researchers (under the age of 45) that conduct research aimed at addressing global challenges within the fields of health, development, environment and equality in all aspects of human life. The winner is awarded 2,5 million NOK (ca. US$235 thousand) to be used for research activities. The prize is open to researchers from all around the world. Canadian International Development Research Center — IDRC Research Awards 2023
The International Development Research Center (IDRC) makes research awards to citizens and permanent residents of Canada, and to citizens of developing countries. The award provides for a one-year paid program of research in addition to hands-on experience in research management, grant administration, and the use of knowledge from an international perspective. Six positions are available at IDRC’s head office in Ottawa (Canada). Program areas include climate resilience and sustainable food systems; and several others. Applicants should be enrolled, or have previously completed, their masters or doctoral degrees at recognized universities. The Endangered Landscapes Programme (ELP) invites expressions of interest from organizations and partnerships for the Landscape Restoration Grant. The program supports landscapes and seascapes restoration in areas that are ecologically degraded, fragmented, disconnected, missing key species and vulnerable to climate change. The maximum grant amount projects can apply for is €100 thousand. The program welcomes applications for smaller amounts. Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) offers an academic summer program for secondary school students from across Africa. The program offers online and in-person programs in four interdisciplinary sessions on Innovations in Science & Technology and Solving Global Challenges. Admitted participants will have access to pre-recorded videos before the start of the program and attend live sessions. There is no tuition cost to participate in the program.
