Oak Spring Garden Foundation — Plant Science Research Fellowship

The Oak Spring Garden Foundation awards Fellowships in Spring Fellowship in Plant Science Research to one early-career plant scientist, with preference given to scientists working in organismal plant biology. The award includes a US$10 thousand individual grant and requires a 2 to 8 week stay at Oak Spring (USA). The Youth Solutions Program provides young innovators with access to experts, training, and exposure to opportunities. You have an innovative solution that addresses one or more of the SDGs. The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network seeks early-stage startups that have a prototype and are actively testing with users or beneficiaries. Swedish Institute — Management Program Africa

The Swedish Institute Management Program (SIMP) seeks responsible leadership and sustainable business practices. Applicants should be interested in topics such as business impact on the environment, diversity and inclusion in the workplace as well as financial strategies for sustainable development. Entrepreneurs between 25-45 years old from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda or Zambia are invited to apply. European Commission — Zukunftskolleg Konnect Fellowships for Early-Career Researchers

The European Commission, through the Euraxess initiative, offers the Zukunftskolleg Konnect Fellowships to support early-career researchers from Africa, Asia and Latin America. ZUKOnnect aims to extend research networks and environments through on-campus research stays at thirteen departments of the University of Konstanz. Subject areas include ecology, limnology, ecotoxicology, botany, amongst many others. The fellowship offers a stipend of €1,200/month for doctoral students and €2,000/month for postdoctoral researchers, as well as travel expenses and access to resources and events. Institute of Current World Affairs — Fellowship Program 2023

The Institute of Current World Affairs (ICWA) makes grants to support fellows who carry out self-designed independent studies for a minimum of two years in the developing world. Fellows must hold the promise of enriching public life in the United States by enhancing the understanding of foreign countries, cultures and trends, therefore candidates must show strong and credible ties to U.S. society. Proposals in the fields of environment, climate change, sustainability and conservation are welcome. Candidates who seek fellowships may reside in any developing country. Student Energy Summit — Video Contest

The Student Energy Summit announces a video contest focused on the theme “Reimagining the Future with Renewable Energy.” The winners of the video contest will receive fully-funded participation in the Student Energy Summit 2023 in Abu Dhabi (November 2023). Connect4Climate — Climate Ambassador Program

Connect4Climate invites young professionals to apply to the 2023 Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador Program (MTECAP). The MTECAP is a six-month online program that offers a mix of technical and hands-on sessions providing young ambassadors with in-depth knowledge to implement meaningful climate action both in their communities and globally. Letten Foundation — Prize for Young Researchers

The Letten Prize is an international prize for young researchers (under the age of 45) that conduct research aimed at addressing global challenges within the fields of health, development, environment and equality in all aspects of human life. The winner is awarded 2,5 million NOK (ca. US$235 thousand) to be used for research activities. The prize is open to researchers from all around the world. World Academy of Sciences — Postdoctoral Fellowships for Early-Career Researchers

In partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), TWAS invites early-career researchers from 21 Least Developed Member Countries to apply to the IsDB-TWAS Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. The fellowship will support research related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, providing recipients with high-level training in areas relevant to sustainability science. The program will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs, such as accommodation and food. The deadline for receiving applications is 06 March 2023. Know more

Wellcome Trust — Early-Career Research Awards

The Wellcome Trust supports bold and creative discovery research that has the potential to improve human life, health and wellbeing. The Early-Career Awards provide funding for early-career researchers from any discipline who are ready to develop their research identity through innovative projects. Research can be in any discipline, including STEM, experimental medicine, or climate – as long as it has the potential to improve human life. The Trust covers the researcher’s salary and up to £400 thousand for research expenses. The applicant’s host organization has to be based in the UK, Republic of Ireland, a low- or middle-income country (apart from India and mainland China).
