Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance — Accelerating Investments in Climate Resilience 2024

The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance invites ideas that will attract increased investment for a low-carbon and climate resilient economy. The call for ideas covers four programs, each with distinct priorities. The Lab seeks innovative finance solutions that can unlock investment to tackle some of the most difficult climate and sustainable development challenges and investment opportunities for a net zero economy. StartupXs — Seed Grant for Social Enterprises

StartupXs invites applications for the 2024 ChangeMakers Seed Funding competition. The competition is open to startups and social enterprises who want to change their community with their innovative business idea. The winner will receive a US$1500 seed grant. Participation is open to any individual (18 and 35 years) or organization in any country. Priority is given to early-stage startups working on an innovative product or idea. HawkWatch International — Global Raptor Research & Conservation Grant

The Global Raptor Research & Conservation Grant invests in projects led by citizens of developing countries with the aim of increasing diversity and inclusivity in conservation while building local capacity. Projects must be located in high-priority countries for raptor research and conservation (mainly Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, or Southeast Asia), focus on a single species of raptor, and be led by an applicant who is associated with a registered NGO and/or university in the country where the project will take place. Preference will be given to projects working in low-income countries. Applicants may apply for up to US$2,500. The application deadline is 31 December 2023. More information

World Academy of Sciences — Associateship Scheme for Research Collaboration

In collaboration with UNESCO, TWAS enables researchers from developing countries to visit research centers. Selected associates are appointed for three years during which they can visit one of 300 participating centers twice for research collaboration. TWAS provides travel support and a contribution towards subsistence costs up to US$300. Living expenses are covered by the host centers. The deadline for submission is 04 December 2023. World Academy of Sciences — Research Professorships in Least-Developed Countries

TWAS funds selected TWAS members to assist with building research capacity in the least-developed countries (LDCs). During a period of five years, each funded professor will be expected to make three visits to a host institution in a partner LDC, for a minimum stay of one month each visit. TWAS will provide travel support, while living expenses are covered by the host institution. Requests need to be submitted by research groups and scientific institutions in the LDCs. U.S. Department of State — TechGirls 2024

TechGirls is an international summer exchange program designed to empower and inspire young women from around the world to pursue careers in science and technology. The program is open to teenage girls (ages 15-17) from eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, East Asia and Pacific, Europe and Eurasia, the Middle East and North Africa, South and Central Asia, and Latin America. TechGirls covers the costs of travel, accommodation and meals for participation in the technology camp hosted by Virginia Tech University. The application will close on 08 December 2023. American Association of Zoo Veterinarians — Zoological Medicine and Wildlife Health Research Grant

The American Association of Zoo Veterinarians (AAZV) awards the Zoological Medicine and Wildlife Health Research Grant to professionals in zoological medicine for the care and conservation of captive and free-ranging wildlife. Melton Foundation — Global Solvers Accelerator

The Global Solvers Accelerator is an eight-month project-based collaborative learning workshop furthering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Up to 20 participants will be invited to attend the fully-sponsored week-long in-person retreat, the Global Solvers Co-Lab (July 2024). Eligibility extends to young community development practitioners aged between 20 – 35 years from all around the world. Applicants must have an existing social impact project. Swedish International Development Agency — Training Program: Locally Controlled Forest Restoration

The LoCoFoRest (Locally Controlled Forest Restoration) training program aims to build capacity in national, regional and local institutions and organizations in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Lao PDR, Nepal, Thailand and Vietnam. The program will give participants the skills and knowledge to support local communities and entrepreneurs to make forest and landscape restoration scalable. The training consists of a web-based preparatory course, three weeks training in Sweden and a project in the participants’ home countries. The application should be made by the individual applicant but needs to be endorsed by an employer. HCLTech — Climate Action Grant

HCLTech launches the Climate Action Grant to provide grants to non-governmental organizations combating climate change and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity across the Americas. HCLTech accepts proposals for climate action in focus areas such as wildlife and biodiversity conservation; land and ocean action; clean energy; climate advocacy; campaigns; and climate risk reduction.
