Save Our Species — Threatened Species Grants Africa
The SOS African Wildlife Initiative invites proposals for Rapid Action Grants targeting terrestrial or freshwater threatened species in South Africa. Rapid Action Grants are designed to enable immediate responses to threats linked to the COVID-19 crisis and its consequences. Civil Society Organizations and public entities are eligible to apply. Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation Indonesia (Large Grants)
Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) makes large grants in support of biodiversity conservation in Indonesia with focus on the “Wallacea Biodiversity Hotspot.” Grants are in support of community-based sustainable small-scale fisheries, protection and conservation of endangered marine species, marine protected areas management, and activities that promote improved marine and coastal ecosystems. This call is for large grants of up to US$75 thousand. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs, community groups, private enterprises, universities, and other civil society applicants. Earth Journalism Network — Pacific Islands Story Grants
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers 12 reporting grants to support the production of in-depth stories that will call attention to critical environmental issues in the Pacific region. ENJ expects at least six stories with focus on ocean issues, such as efforts and solutions to protect the ocean, ways to increase ocean’s resilience to climate change and regulate sustainable use of its resources. The Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet) provides grants for field demonstration projects which showcase best practices in forest rehabilitation and management in APEC member countries. APFNet-funded projects are aimed at rehabilitating degraded forests and increasing forest cover, promoting sustainable forest management to enhance the ecological function and health of forests, and enhancing the contribution of forests to socio-economic development and local livelihoods. APFNet supports small projects that apply for less than US$10 thousand as well as regular projects with budgets of up to US$500 thousand. The proposed project cannot exceed 36 months in duration. World Federation of Science Journalists — Reporting Grant
The Louise Behan Reporting Grant supports science journalists in the Global South who are reporting on matters of interest in their country or region. The grant offers two or three awards of between US$750 and US$1,000 annually. This support is intended to enhance the career of each recipient, as well as to enhance the quality of science journalism in the recipient’s country.
