The Innovation for Change (I4C) Hub supports organizations from Latin America and Caribbean that work to strengthen civil society through innovation. RACI provides seed funding to local, national and regional organizations for innovative movements and initiatives that creatively tackle community challenges related to one or more of the following areas: Sustainability; Transparency and accountability; Promoting an enabling environment. U.S. Agency for International Development — Generating Green Economic Opportunities
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications from qualified Honduran entities to implement the “Local Works Honduras Activities.” The goal is to support locally led green economic reactivation which simultaneously reduces solid waste in the environment and decreases risk factors associated with violence in areas heavily affected by COVID-19 and migration. USAID anticipates providing approx. US$1.7 million in total funding over a five-year period. Eligibility is restricted to local Honduran non-profit organizations, colleges and universities, civic groups, faith-based and community institutions, private businesses, and advocacy groups. Fresno Chaffee Zoo — Grants for Wildlife Conservation
The Fresno Chaffee Zoo Wildlife Conservation Fund makes grants for wildlife conservation and research that focuses on rare, threatened, and endangered animals and their habitats. The priority is for in situ conservation projects. Most grants range from US$2 thousand to US$10 thousand. The principal investigator must be associated with a recognized institution (accredited zoo, academic institution, conservation or non-profit organization). Ecologia — The Virtual Foundation
Ecologia aims to build global connections that create civil society and support environmental, human health, and economic sustainability. In support of these objectives, Ecologia established the Virtual Foundation to raise financial contributions over the internet, and to steer this funding towards project implementers in partner countries. The Virtual Foundation supports small scale projects with grants of up to US$5 thousand, with preference for projects under US$2 thousand. There is no calendar deadline. Link
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service — Conservation of Marine Turtles
The Marine Turtle Conservation Fund (MTCA) accepts proposals for the conservation of priority nesting populations of six of the seven species of marine turtles (Chelonia mydas, Caretta caretta, Dermochelys coriacea, Eretmochelys imbricata, Lepidochelys olivacea, Lepidochelys kempii) throughout their range worldwide. The fund provides financial support for projects that conserve nesting populations and habitat and address other threats to the survival of marine turtles in range countries. Applicants may request between US$25 to US$200 thousand. Applicants can be individuals; government agencies; non-profit organizations; for-profit organizations; or universities. European Commission — Support for Social Enterprises in North Macedonia
The European Commission (EC) supports social enterprises in North Macedonia through knowledge transfer and mentoring as well as informal education and training activities on issues related to operating a social enterprise. The EC’s grant scheme provides financial support to projects focused on establishment of social enterprises or extension of the scope of work of existing social enterprises. The overall amount made available under this call for proposals is €500 thousand.
