British Council — Climate Change Communicators

FameLab Climate Change Communicators is a global online competition and training event to build trust in climate science. The British Council invites aspiring climate change communicators to submit a video giving a three-minute talk in English related to the theme of ‘Trust in Climate Science’. All finalists will take part in a two-day online masterclass delivered by leading science communication trainers. The competition is open to entries from individuals based in: Albania, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, China, Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Serbia, Turkey, Uganda, and Vietnam. European Commission — Sustainable Water and Natural Resources

The European Commission supports inclusive growth and resilience to extreme climate conditions in rural communities in Tajikistan, based on improved agriculture and sustainable use of water and natural resources. The EU invites projects that improve the added value of agricultural production and the management of natural resources, or promote the sustainable and efficient use of water. EIT Climate-KIC — Climate Action Citizen Engagement

The European Commission launches the design phase of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. EIT Climate-KIC calls for climate innovation in public space through citizen engagement. Projects should mobilize citizen-driven initiatives and ideas all across-Europe and bring together cities, regions and social engagement innovators to empower civil society and drive climate action. EIT Climate-KIC will select three proposals and will grant a maximum of €30 thousand per proposal to develop a public space co-design activity in a city or region with civil society leadership. International Secretariat for Water — Global Youth Take Action

Global Youth Take Action invites projects with the objective to support the implementation of youth-led initiatives related to sustainable water resources management and climate change adaptation. The call for projects aims to support initiatives regarding water & health, water & agriculture, water-related risks, and water sharing working towards Sustainable Development Goals. Selected projects will receive financial support up to CA$5 thousand each and technical support. The project must be led and implemented by youth aged between 18 and 35. Projects from low- and middle-income countries, projects targeting indigenous communities, projects led by young women and projects targeting women will be prioritized. Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia — Leadership Program on Environment for Sustainable Development

The Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) accepts applications for the 12th Central Asian Leadership Program on Environment for Sustainable Development (CALP). The program provides knowledge and capacity to young leaders from government bodies and other stakeholders in order to enable their switching to Sustainable Consumption and Production in Central Asia and Afghanistan. CALP provides a neutral youth dialogue platform for discussing water cooperation, climate change, energy efficiency, as well as the coronavirus pandemic and its impact. CALP seeks participants that are representatives of civil society organizations, state, and academic sectors. Preference will be given to the applicants between the ages of 28 to 40. CAREC will accept applications until 15 July 2021. Link

European Commission — Conflict and Climate Change

The European Commission aims to support communities and authorities to prevent and mitigate conflict resulting from climate change. The priorities of this call are climate change adaptation and mitigation measures, peace-building and conflict prevention efforts, encourage closer collaboration between climate change and peacebuilding experts and activists, and encourage participative conflict sensitive design and implementation of climate change responses. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between €1.5 million and €3 million. Eligibility extends to international organizations, non-profit organizations and private companies. French Development Agency — Digital Project for Climate Protection and Biodiversity in Africa

The AFD Digital Challenge supports the development of innovative solutions that help solve challenges of the digital transition with those of climate protection and biodiversity, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG). Solutions should focus on reducing the digital footprint (e.g., reduced energy consumption or eco-construction), building a sustainable economy (e.g., environmental and climate practices or agro-ecology), or preserving natural resources (e.g., preventing natural disasters or preservation of ecosystems). Climate Investment Platform — Clean Energy Investments

The Climate Investment Platform (CIP) launches a call for proposals to invest in projects that advance climate action and energy security in Small Island Developing States (SIDS). CIP will award Technical Assistance for US$30 thousand to US$80 thousand to support development of a project concept. Projects must be assisting clean energy transition and/or energy access, including waste and water management and be deployed in Small Island Developing States. Colas Group — Responsible Infrastructures

The Colas Group seeks innovative yet pragmatic and achievable ideas for responsible infrastructures that address the need for the local area’s socio-economic development while taking climate and social challenges into account. Winners receive small cash awards and product prizes. Topics include creating solutions to adapt infrastructure to climate change. Eligibility to apply to this challenge extends to students currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution or who recently graduated less than 2 years before the current scholar year. WASCAL — Master Research in Informatics for Climate Change

The Master Research Program in Informatics for Climate Change (MRP-INFORMCC) is implemented at the Université Joseph KI-ZERBO (Burkina Faso) and provides training in scientific computation and climate data management in West Africa. The West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) offers full scholarships to students from 11 West African countries.
