Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research — Food Systems Accelerator

The CGIAR Food Systems Accelerator aims to support agribusiness with eco-friendly agricultural practices. The four priority innovation themes are: Mechanization and irrigation; Conservation agriculture; Nutrition-sensitive climate smart agriculture; and Agricultural Risk Management. Supported innovations should be designed to benefit smallholder farmers in East and Southern Africa. The program provides technical assistance and access to investors and corporate partners. Four companies will receive US$20 thousand. Applicants must be a for-profit company operating in Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe. Startup Wise Guys — Climate Change Warriors Program

The Climate Change Warriors Program offers training, networking opportunities and funding to creative minds that fight climate change. The 4-months program provides intensive training and personal development opportunities. Participants can get up to €120 thousand convertible investment. The program is designed for early-stage B2B sustainability startups working in climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture, circular economy, circular waste management, or sustainable land management.  The deadline to apply is 18 January 2024. Commission for Environmental Cooperation — Environmental Community Action

The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) calls for applications for the new cycle of the North American Partnership for Environmental Community Action (NAPECA) grant program. The current call for proposals is aimed at organizations supporting environmental initiatives that will involve and empower Indigenous Peoples and communities and enhance climate adaptation by respectfully applying and protecting Indigenous knowledge systems. The CEC encourages applicants to submit proposals up to C$185 thousand. The program supports projects and partnerships in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Deloitte — One Young World Scholarships 2024

Deloitte offers One Young World Scholarships which will enable 5 outstanding young leaders to attend the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada (September 2024). The scholarship is intended for young leaders focused on reducing the causes and effects of climate change in their communities, countries, or world at large. Scholars will receive access to the One Young World Summit 2024, hotel accommodation, the cost of travel to and from Montreal, and catering. Mind & Life — Community Grants

The Contemplative Changemaking Grants support the use of contemplative approaches by grassroots changemakers addressing urgent community needs. Grants will fund projects that support changemakers in transforming lives and communities. Funding is up to US$10 thousand for a 2-year period. Applicants must be individuals applying in their own name, or on behalf of a local community-based nonprofit organization (including universities) or social enterprise. National Geographic Society — Exploration Grant

The National Geographic Society funds individuals working on projects in science, conservation, storytelling, education, and technology that align with one or more of their focus areas: Ocean, Land, Wildlife, Human History & Culture, Human Ingenuity. Level I grants receive funding up to US$20 thousand and offer unique opportunities for training, networking, coaching, and mentorship from fellow National Geographic experts. Level II grants are up to US$100 thousand. Currently, National Geographic Society seeks innovative photography, short film, writing, data visualization and other storytelling proposals to help water users understand the issues around global water sustainability. Climate and Clean Air Coalition — Reducing Methane Emissions from the Livestock Sector in Brazil

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) accepts applications to develop a strategy for supporting the reduction of methane emissions intensity from livestock production in Brazil. The project should support farmers of various sizes without excluding small holders. To be eligible for consideration, project proposals must be submitted by a non-governmental organization. ClimateScience — Olympiad 2024

ClimateScience is a global charity creating and providing educational resources on solutions to climate change to people worldwide. ClimateScience invites youth from 14-17 years and 18-25 years to participate in the Climate Science Olympiad 2024. Participants can compete in teams of two or on their own. Individual applicants can be matched up with a teammate. Each team (or individual) chooses one of three problem statements (topics: biodiversity, clean energy, and sustainable agriculture) to respond to. The top 3 teams win US$5 thousand, US$3 thousand and US$2 thousand, respectively. Registration ends on 10 May 2024. ClimateScience Olympiad

One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership — Online Course: Gender & Environment

The One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC:Learn) provides free resources and online courses to achieve climate change action both through general climate literacy and applied skills development. This free online course focuses on why promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment can help deliver better environmental outcomes in the fight against climate change. Participants will receive facts and figures on gender dimensions linked to biodiversity, climate change, land degradation, international waters, and chemicals and waste. The course is self-paced. Amazon — Research Awards

Amazon welcomes proposals related to climate risk/resilience, life cycle assessment and circular strategies. The overall goal is to inform business planning and resilience in order to make Amazon the most environmentally and socially responsible place to buy or sell goods and services. Selected partners may receive up to US$100 thousand in unrestricted funds. The application deadline is 13 November 2023. Link
