EuroScience — Mobility Grant to attend the EuroScience Open Forum

The Nature Travel Grant Scheme offers journalists and members of media organisations from around the world the opportunity to attend EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Toulouse (France) in July 2018. The biennial forum is dedicated to scientific research and innovation from all sectors. The grant offers complimentary registration as well as help covering travel and accommodation costs. British Council — Newton Fund Researcher Links Regional Workshops

Newton Fund Researcher Links Regional Workshops bring together early-career researchers from the UK and other regional partner countries to allow them to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. The programme intends to tackle global challenges – such as climate and environment, sustainable energy, water and sanitation, rural and urban development, and food safety among others. Regional Workshops can be proposed between the UK and Brazil, China, India, Jordan, and Peru. The application deadline is 08 June 2018. More about the application process

Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation — Scholarships 2018-2019

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants to foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2018-2019 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation. Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes. (Note: This may include one or more categories covered by the Terra Viva Grants Directory). Grantees will receive a €900 monthly allowance on a quarterly basis and health insurance. Applicants must provide a certificate of their proficiency in Italian language (not required for courses entirely taught in English). Applications must be submitted by 30 April 2018. Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research — Small Grants Program

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research calls for projects that focus on the role of ecosystem services in adaptation to global change for human wellbeing. The IAI will provide funds of up to US$ 200 thousand for international collaborative research networks for 2 years. Co-funding is required to be considered for this grant. The call is organized in a 2-phase selection process. Applicants should submit an initial pre-proposal. Selected candidates will then take part in a week-long proposal writing workshop and develop full proposals. The deadline for submitting pre-proposals is 27 May 2018. Check eligibility

Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation — Research Grants

ISESCO Research Grants are awarded for high-level and promising scientific research projects in the fields of agricultural biotechnology, biological sciences, and medicinal plants, among others. Researchers are awarded a maximum amount of US$10 thousand for a period of two years. Applicants should be national residents of OIC member states and be under the age of 40 years. World Academy of Sciences — UPM Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme

TWAS invites young scientists from developing countries (other than Malaysia) who wish to pursue advanced research in the natural sciences at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in Selangor, Malaysia to apply. UPM will provide a standard monthly allowance which should be used to cover living costs, such as accommodation and food. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in a field of the natural sciences, including agricultural sciences, biology, and others. Applications will be accepted from 01 June to 31 August 2018. Western Union — Scholarship for Undergraduate Study

The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or business/entrepreneurship. Selected scholarship recipients will receive USD $2,500 each to contribute toward tuition at an accredited post-secondary institution. The Baillet Latour Antarctica Fellowship provides young scientists with the opportunity to conduct research in East Antarctica while operating out of Princess Elisabeth Antarctica research station. Fellows receive €150 thousand for 2 field seasons at Princess Elisabeth research station for scientific research in Antarctica. The fellowship is open to applicants from any country in the world. World Academy of Sciences — C.N.R. Rao Prize for Scientific Research 2018

The prize is named after TWAS Founding Fellow and former president C.N.R. Rao to honor TWAS Fellows from the developing world. The special focus is scientists in the world’s scientifically lagging and least-developed countries who have made significant contributions to global science. UNESCO World Heritage Education Programme — World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2018

Candidates who wish to attend the World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2018 under the theme of ‘Protecting Heritage in an Ever-Changing World’ from 17 to 26 June 2018 in Manama (Bahrain) are invited to apply for a conference scholarship. The Forum aims to transmit the values of World Heritage, highlighting the potential that World Heritage education may have for facilitating sustainable development. All travel and accommodation costs for the selected participants will be covered. The organizers will assist in the travel preparations (including visas) and bookings.
