Stiftung Entrepreneurship — Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition 2022

The Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition (CEC) invites entrepreneurs from all around the world to submit innovative answers and ideas to solve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Young entrepreneurs (age 15-35) submit their ideas and projects in the Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship category. Entrepreneurs over 30 years apply to the Adult Citizen Entrepreneurship category. Athens Photo World — International Photojournalism Award

Athens Photo World seeks applications from professional photojournalists for the Yannis Behrakis International Photojournalism Award. Athens Photo World will award €15 thousand to a completed project of reportage or documentary photography, created within the last 3 years. Photographers can submit a portfolio of up to twenty-four (24) photographs. Submissions have to be received by 10 April 2022. More information

Graduate Institute Geneva — Geneva Challenge on Poverty Reduction

The Graduate Institute Geneva invites graduate students from all around the world to develop innovative interdisciplinary solutions that address the global challenges of poverty reduction. Five finalist teams, one team per continent, will be invited to an oral presentation in Geneva. The winning project will receive CHF10 thousand. Fiat Panis Foundation — Prize for Improvement of World Nutrition

Foundation Fiat Panis calls for nominations for the Justus von Liebig-Award for World Nutrition for outstanding achievements in the fight against hunger and poverty. Contributions can be scientific contributions to research and teaching in the field of agricultural sciences, entrepreneurial and organizational services, achievements of a humanitarian nature, or contributions to the communication of world food problems and possible solutions. UNESCO — International Prize in the Basic Sciences

The UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in the Basic Sciences aims to promote and honor excellence in the basic sciences (chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biology). Each year, two winners receive a financial award of US$250 thousand each. UNESCO invites the governments of Member States, organizations maintaining official partnerships with UNESCO, international scientific unions and universities to propose individual candidates for the 2022 edition. Candidates must be individuals with major achievements in terms of development, diffusion, and international cooperation in the basic sciences, which led to a significant transformational impact on a regional or global scale. BBVA Foundation — Award for Environmental Communication

The Biophilia Award for Environmental Communication recognizes the work of professionals and organizations worldwide in any aspect of environmental communication, especially in the areas of biodiversity conservation and climate change. Contributions may encompass a wide spectrum of formats, styles, channels, and projects in any medium. Eligibility extends to natural or legal persons of any nationality engaging professionally in any facet of environmental communication. One award will be given comprising €100 thousand. Earth Island Institute — Youth Award for Environmental Leadership

Earth Island Institute seeks applications for the Brower Youth Award for Environmental Leadership. The award is intended for ongoing environmental efforts, therefore, research and science fair projects will not be considered. Six winners will receive $3 thousand in cash, a professionally produced short film about their work, and a week-long trip to the San Francisco Bay Area. Eleven Eleven Twelve Foundation — Africa Green Grant Award

Eleven Eleven Twelve Foundation announces the Africa Green Grant Award. The Award gives grants to African entrepreneurs in the environmental and agricultural sectors. The financial support scheme is open to Africans, both individuals and institutions/organizations, whose project impacts local communities and solves environmental problems. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization — Youth Multimedia Competition

UNESCO invites youth around the world to take part in a Multimedia Competition in response to an acute world problem. The 2022 competition revolves around a question on “the Sustainable Development Goals and how local communities deal with them”. Participants are required to produce a 3-minute video, multimedia presentation, 500-700 written essay, or art work. The competition is divided by age groups: Juniors (ages 10-14); Youth (ages 15-19); and Young Adult (ages 20-24). The three finalists from each group will receive a certificate and an invitation to UNESCO’s Builders of the Universe Camp held at Hood College in Frederick (USA), including a scholarship for the fee for the camp, food, accommodations, and transport. United Nations — World Oceans Day Photo Competition 2022

The World Oceans Day aims to raise global awareness of the current challenges faced by the oceans and showcase possible solutions. The United Nations General Assembly seeks submissions to the World Oceans Day Photo Competition to share the beauty and importance of the oceans through photographs. The photo competition has seven thematic categories open for photographic submissions from all around the world.
