The Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship aims to create a community of committed clean energy and climate change leaders from emerging and developing countries. Fellows will engage in a series of interactive sessions with prominent Yale faculty and practitioners to set the terms of the global climate change debate. Applicants should be between five and 10 years into their professional careers and be representatives of the Global South (Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America/Caribbean). The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) invites innovative, cross‑sector projects to reduce food loss and waste linked to methane and black carbon emissions while tackling malnutrition. Participants may include governments, NGOs, private sector entities, research institutions, and community organizations worldwide. World Academy of Sciences — Postgraduate Fellowship Program
TWAS offers a postdoctoral fellowship program for young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) who wish to pursue postdoctoral research in organic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine, pharmacology or physical chemistry at the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS). ICCBS will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs such as food, accommodation and health insurance. Applicants for these fellowships must be permanent residents in a developing country and hold a PhD degree in a field of natural sciences. The application deadline is 14 August 2025. Future for Nature Foundation — Future for Nature Award 2026
The Future for Nature Award aims to stimulate a new generation of nature conservation leaders. The award is made to candidates of any nationality or residence, not older than age 35, who have achieved substantial and long-term benefit to the conservation status of one or more animal and/or plant species, or that of a specific population. Work-related to the conservation and protection of endangered species is a priority. The award is made to individuals, not organizations. Each of the three award winners will be given a cash prize and a sculpture. The winners are expected to invest their prize of €50 thousand in a conservation project of their own choice. Amphibian Survival Alliance — Partnerships for Amphibian Conservation
The Amphibian Survival Alliance (ASA) makes grants to evidence-based conservation projects that address key threats to amphibians and raise awareness. AArk Program Grants are intended to support conservation projects for amphibian species that cannot currently be saved in the wild, with a primary focus on ex situ actions, and in partnership with appropriate field activities. Funded programs will receive up to US$7,000 in the first year. Additional funds will be available for year 2 (up to US$5,000) and year 3 (up to US$3,000). German Academic Exchange Service — Postgraduate Courses in Germany 2026-2027
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships to qualified individuals from eligible developing countries for post-graduate studies at German universities in development-related subjects. The program (EPOS) is open to individuals who have completed their previous academic degrees no longer than six years previously; who have at least two years of professional experience; and who are nationals of countries receiving official development assistance (DAC list of the OECD). The available courses range across water resources; renewable energy; land management and tenure; agricultural sciences; forest sciences; ecology; nature conservation; environmental governance; and many others. European Journalism Centre — Journalism Science Alliance
The Journalism Science Alliance (JSA) grant program aims to foster investigative journalism grounded in scientific principles. This initiative provides grant funding, alongside training, mentoring, and networking opportunities, to cultivate collaboration between journalism and research institutions. The JSA offers grants of up to €50 thousand. The grants are open to collaborative projects involving at least one media outlet and one research or academic organization. The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program supports the involvement of young women in scientific research. This program rewards young female researchers in life and environmental sciences, material sciences, mathematics, computer and information sciences, engineering sciences, and technology. Researchers will receive $15 thousand to support their doctoral or postdoctoral research studies. Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World — OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Awards
The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) supports early-career women scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with doctoral fellowships in the natural sciences. The applicant must have received her PhD in a scientific discipline within the previous ten years and whose current scientific research is related to the area of water, sanitation, and hygiene. Five grantees receive a cash grant of US$5 thousand and an all-expenses-paid trip to attend a relevant international conference. Applicants should be qualified young women science graduates (generally below 40 years of age), who have an M.Sc. degree or outstanding B.Sc. in the natural sciences. SEAMEO — Education for Sustainable Development
The SEAMEO-Japan Education for Sustainable Development Award invites public and private schools across Southeast Asia to showcase initiatives that enhance community resilience through local wisdom in disaster risk reduction. The first prize includes US$1,000 and a study tour to Japan for selected students and teachers. Second and third prizes are US$600 and US$400, respectively.
