The Emerging Climate Champions Award provides flexible multiyear grants of $1 million each to youth-led (ages 15–35) climate organizations worldwide. It supports groups with at least two years of active operations, community leadership, and measurable climate impact—spanning initiatives in climate justice, conservation, sustainable agriculture, resilience, movement building, and more. The Africa Sustainable Futures Awards recognize commercially viable and scalable initiatives contributing to sustainable development across Africa. The awards cover five categories: Access to Electricity & Infrastructure, Agribusiness, Healthcare, Local Manufacturing, and Tourism, with an additional Judges’ Award for Excellence. The Climate Reporting Gap Fellowship awards six Nigerian journalists or filmmakers with £3,000–£5,000 grants, complemented by one-on-one mentoring, in-depth in-person and online workshops, a reporting trip to Colombia, and global promotion via partner networks. The fellowship is aimed at mid-career professionals with 3–5 years of experience, the fellowship supports data-driven, community‑centric coverage of climate finance, energy transitions, resource governance, and environmental resilience in Nigeria and the region. U.S. National Fish and Wildlife Foundation — Seabird Conservation Program 2025
The U.S. National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) invites applications to improve populations of focal Pacific seabirds through actions that increase survival and reproduction. Proposed projects may address the management of non-native, invasive animals; restoration of nesting grounds and habitat; research and monitoring activities to address conservation needs; or activities that reduce bycatch. Institute for Global Environmental Strategies — Satoyama Development Mechanism 2025
The IGES, the United Nations University Institute for Advanced Studies on Sustainability, and Japan’s Ministry of the Environment announce the latest round of sub-grants under the Satoyama Development Mechanism. The International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) promotes the sustainable use of Socio-Ecological Production Landscapes and Seascapes. Grants are up to US$20 thousand for field projects; research; collaboration activities; and capacity building and outreach that link ecosystems and community systems on a sustainable basis. Play for Nature — Biodiversity Conservation
Play for Nature supports global biodiversity conservation through two thematic tracks: Biodiv’Monde, focused on in-situ conservation and scientific studies of endangered species and habitats, and Biodiv’Sport, which funds projects linking biodiversity awareness with sports events and outdoor activities. World Bank Group — Africa Fellowship Program 2026
The Africa Region of the World Bank Group seeks applications for the 2026 WBG-Africa Fellowship Program for Ph.D. Students and recent Ph.D. graduates who are Sub-Saharan nationals. Fellows will spend at least six months at the World Bank offices in Washington, D.C., or in a Sub-Saharan country, getting hands-on experience in development work. While benefiting from research and innovation in multiple sectors, fellows will also work on economic policy, technical assistance, and lending to eliminate poverty and increase shared prosperity. Fellows will receive consultant fees, economy-class air travel, and worker’s compensation insurance. The program invites applications from recent Ph.D. graduates, or current doctoral students, in disciplinary fields that include agriculture, energy, and others. Climate & Clean Air Coalition — National Policy & Mitigation Projects
The Climate & Clean Air Coalition invites proposals to support national strategies and action plans addressing short‑lived climate pollutants across six thematic areas: agriculture, cooling & refrigeration, heavy‑duty transport, household energy, waste management, and national policy & planning. Grants cover project design and implementation tailored to country priorities, including methane and black‑carbon reduction strategies, clean cooking transitions, refrigerant phase‑down, organic waste pipelines, and improved air quality regulation. Target countries currently include Cambodia, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Madagascar, Mexico, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Nigeria, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Vanuatu, Vietnam, and others.
