The program will foster a community of women in STEM and will provide a platform for young women to connect with each other. European Commission — Women-led Green Partnership Program
The EU-Vietnam Women-led Green Partnership Program seeks to support women to influence decision-making processes on climate change and environmental conservation policies and actions in Vietnam. Proposals should mainly target improving access to decent jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities in the green economy and the circular economy for women and girls. Proposed actions will be financed with up to €5 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit civil society organizations established in a Member State of the European Union or in Vietnam. The Green Changemakers Challenge is a global innovation competition for social entrepreneurs in selected markets with ventures that equip individuals and communities with the skills needed to thrive in the transition to a green economy. The challenge seeks social entrepreneurs with ventures that solve the climate crisis along with social problems. IUCN and UNEP — Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation
The Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Fund supports scaling up innovative approaches to ecosystem-based adaptation to increase the resilience of communities against the impacts of climate change. The goal is to build awareness and understanding of the critical role of natural assets in underpinning resilience and expand the knowledge base to help make the case for working with people and nature. The fund is open for contributions of US$50 thousand to US$250 thousand, with no specified country focus. The maximum project duration is 36 months. The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) invites youth to propose innovative solutions that address and respond to critical issues related to water. Residents of Canada, Mexico and the United States (and its territories) aged 18-30 are eligible to submit science, technology and business innovations. The National Geographic Society seeks scientists doing field research on animal behavior and cognition. Selected scientists will receive direct funding of US$800 thousand, as well as substantial additional resources and services over four years. Projects must be research-based, be fieldwork-oriented and focus on wild populations. This funding opportunity does not have any taxonomic or geographic restrictions. U.S. Mission to Uganda — Self-Help Program
The special self-help program of the U.S. Embassy to Uganda supports small, sustainable community-based initiatives that have an immediate and strong impact on the local community. The Embassy expects to support different types of projects: from development projects such as agricultural and aquacultural cooperatives to women’s empowerment and the environment. Grants typically range from US$1 thousand to US$10 thousand per project. All applicants must include a significant community contribution.
