The Forum aims to transmit the values of World Heritage, highlighting the potential that World Heritage education may have for facilitating sustainable development. Applications are open for the Stephen Lloyd Awards. The awards seek nurturing innovative ideas and projects from all around the world that can lead to practical, sustainable social change. This includes one or more categories of the Terra Viva Grants Directory. Funding of up to £20 thousand will be made available to support award winners in developing their initiatives. The Explorers Club is a multidisciplinary professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research, and to preserving the instinct to explore. The Scott Pearlman Field Awards are grants for artists, writers, filmmakers, photographers, and journalists in support of scientific expeditions sponsored by the Explorers Club. The winning candidate will receive a cash award of $10 thousand. Applicants do not have to be a member of The Explorers Club to qualify for a grant, and there are no nationality or age restrictions. Rotary and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education provide scholarships to students studying Water and Sanitation. Candidates must live or work near a Rotary club and be admitted to one of the following degree programs at IHE Delft (joint programs are not eligible): (1) MSc in Urban Water and Sanitation; (2) MSc in Water Management and Governance; or (3) MSc in Water Science and Engineering. The program INFEWS (“Innovations at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems”) aims to promote international cooperation that links scientists and engineers from a range of disciplines and organizations to solve the significant global challenges at the nexus of food, energy, and water systems. Proposals including international collaboration are encouraged when they incorporate unique resources, expertise, facilities, or sites of international partners. World Bank — Public-Private Infrastructure in Water, Energy, and Transportation
The World Bank’s Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF) welcomes submissions on topics pertaining to private-sector participation in infrastructure, public-private partnerships, and sub-national finance for energy, water, and transportation. PPIAF is looking for knowledge products that provide lessons learned or best practices which can be applied across countries and across regions. USA, UK, and Canada — Humanitarian Grand Challenge
The U.S. Agency for International Development, the UK Department for International Development, and Grand Challenges Canada seek proposals for the “Creating Hope in Conflict: A Humanitarian Grand Challenge”. Thematic areas that fall in the scope of the Terra Viva Grants Directory include drinking water, sanitation, and energy, among others. Projects should focus on life-saving or life-improving innovations to help the most vulnerable and hardest-to-reach people impacted by humanitarian crises caused by conflict. About 10 to 15 selected projects will receive seed funding of C$250 thousand over a maximum of 24 months to support the validation and testing of new approaches. Few selected projects (about 2 to 4) will receive transition-to-scale funding of up to C$1 million with technical support to support the implementation of innovative solutions that have already achieved proof of concept. Eligible applicants include social enterprises and other recognized institutions (e.g., non-profit organizations and for-profit companies) from all around the world. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation — Global Citizenship Challenge
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation seeks innovators who positively engage young people (under the age of 30) in Global Citizenship. Investigators are invited to propose innovative and creative solutions that uses new knowledge to positively engage young people in no poverty, zero hunger, clean water and sanitation and other thematic areas of sustainable development.
