Eligibility extends to Indian women currently pursuing Ph.D. degree in Basic Sciences, Engineering or Technology on a full-time basis at any recognized academic institution/R&D institute/university in India. The NOW-Us! (NOthing about us, Without Us) Award honors inspiring inclusive initiatives from Africa and Asia that trigger empowerment of otherwise excluded groups. This includes social enterprises led by women, indigenous groups and ethnic minorities with initiatives that improve access to productive resources (land and water), among others. The three winners (1, 2 and 3) get a grant of respectively €25 thousand, €15 thousand and €10 thousand along with coaching and networking opportunities. The Know-how Exchange Program co-finances the transfer of know-how and best practices from EU to non-EU member countries of the Central European Initiative (CEI). Thematic areas in the current call by KEP-Italy include energy, environment, and agriculture and rural development (among others). Proposals are submitted by organizations in CEI member states which are also member states of the European Union for knowledge transfers to non-EU member states of the CEI. The non-EU members of the CEI are Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Ukraine. The maximum grant is €40 thousand. The Government of Canada seeks Canadian Small and Medium Organizations (SMO) to apply to the Development Impact Window. The aim of this call is to reduce poverty and vulnerability in developing countries by promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls. Action areas under this call include one on ‘Environment and Climate Action’. The total amount of funding available under this call is up to CA$36 million over five years. Only Canadian SMOs with projects in one or more official development assistance-eligible countries (especially Sub-Saharan Africa) may apply. Concept notes have to be submitted by 10 July 2019. Newton Fund Researcher Links Regional Workshops bring together early-career researchers from the UK and other regional partner countries to allow them to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. The program intends to tackle global challenges – such as climate and environment, sustainable energy, water and sanitation, rural and urban development, and food safety among others. The Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) seeks early-career science and research communicators in the Asia-Pacific region. The new grant opportunity aims to (1) promote collaboration between journalists or media practitioners and scientists/researchers and (2) disseminate scientific outputs in the form of non-scientific materials. DAAD collaborates with the EC’s Marie Curie Program to offer the Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience (PRIME) for outstanding postdoctoral researchers across all disciplines and nationalities. Funding is provided for 18 months, of which 12 months are spent abroad and 6 months at a German university. The funding consists of salaries instead of scholarships.
