The Pro Natura Foundation makes grants to individuals and organizations for nature conservation in Japan and developing countries. This program is focused on scientific research concerning the conservation of biodiversity and the relationship between humans and the environment. Grants of up to 1,5 million yen are for one year. Administered by WWF Hong Kong, the Asian Waterbirds Conservation Fund supports the conservation of migratory waterbirds and their wetland habitats in the East Asian – Australasian flyway. Mobilise Action accepts applications for the ITC Conference Grants from early-career investigators and PhD students from cost Inclusiveness Target Countries (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey). The grants aim to support researchers to participate to the Biodiversity_Next International Conference that takes place in October in The Netherlands. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) invites submissions for the call for proposals on Sustainable Alternative Livelihood Projects for Marine Protected Areas in the Republic of Mauritius. The call aims to mainstream the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services into coastal zone management. Eligibility extends to non-governmental organizations in the Republic of Mauritius and Rodrigues. Proposal amounts should be of a maximum of US$50 thousand. Participants are asked to write an original article on “Benefits of Trekking” of about 800-1000 words (min 800 words) in the English language. Samsung Engineering jointly with UN Environment launches the 12th Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition inviting the youth all over the world to raise awareness on the theme “Beat Air Pollution”. The competition aims to collect inspiring and creative ideas on why we should reduce air pollution with regards to its causes, effects, and consequences. The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society invites applications for the Asia Conservation Fund 2019/20. The HKBWS funds research, monitoring, education and capacity building related to bird protection in Asia. Higher priority is given to projects which target species that occur in Hong Kong or on the East Asian and Australasian Flyway; and to projects that assist the relevant country in meeting Aichi Biodiversity Targets. The NAM S&T Centre invites applications from scientists from the developing countries for the Joint NAM S&T Centre – ZMT Bremen (Germany) Fellowship in Tropical Coastal Marine Research. Under this scheme, five selected scientists will work with senior researchers and faculty members in fields related to Ecology, Biogeochemistry, Geology, and Tropical Coastal Marine Systems; and undertaking short-term joint research projects for a period of up to 3 months. The Columbus Zoo makes conservation grants for research, local community involvement, capacity building, environmental education, and behavior change leading to improved conservation of wildlife and habitat. Grant requests may range from US$1 thousand to US$25 thousand, but grants are limited to US$5 thousand for first-time applicants. First-time applicants must submit a pre-proposal.
