The Alongside Wildlife Foundation supports projects that are led by or will increase involvement of minorities and members of marginalized groups in wildlife conservation. The Foundation supports the collection of scientific data, science communication to reduce human/wildlife conflict, and the implementation of science-based strategies for living alongside wildlife populations. The United States Agency for International Development in Brazil (USAID/Brazil) seeks novel or creative approaches to conserve the Amazon and further advance biodiversity and forest conservation while promoting long-term community well-being. Each anticipated award will have a minimum value of US$2.5 million of USAID funding. The Morris Animal Foundation funds conservationists interested in applying genetic insight to the protection and management of amphibian wildlife. The Small Initiatives Program (PPI) launches a call for project proposals for emerging African Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working around major issues of nature conservation and/or the fight against climate change. The eligible themes are the conservation of biodiversity and the fight against climate change through nature-based solutions. The maximum contribution is €35 thousand. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites journalists from India to apply for a story grant to report on air pollution in Madhya Pradesh. EJN welcomes story ideas that focus on air pollution, especially in Indore and surrounding areas and the threats it poses to local populations. Applicants can be from anywhere in India; applicants from Madhya Pradesh are preferred. Groups of journalists are eligible. The European Commission (EC) seeks to support civil society organizations’ ability to engage as actors promoting green growth and good governance. EC will fund projects that promote a just transition to a climate-neutral, resource-efficient and circular economy, and prevent biodiversity loss through the protection, restoration and promotion of sustainable use of ecosystems. Applicants can request up to €1.4 million in funding. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations legally established in Nepal or Member States of the European Union. The Youth and the Oceans video competition aims to showcase the understanding the youth have of their oceans. The videos can have any subject associated with the theme Coastal communities, life with the ocean. It should be a 3 to 5-minute video, created entirely from material filmed/created by youth. The competition is open to high school students, university students, and amateurs up to 30 years old. Entry must be an original video filmed in one of the following East Asian countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, DPR Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, RO Korea, Singapore, Timor-Leste, Thailand, or Vietnam. The Blue Action Fund announces a new open call for grant proposals focusing on the Wider Caribbean Sea. The Fund provides individual grants to selected conservation projects with focus on marine protected areas (MPAs) to support conservation of biodiversity, and projects that seek to enhance livelihood conditions and food security. The Fund will award grants of €2-4 million. Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations with proven experience in coastal and marine conservation and sustainable livelihood development in the area. The Donner Canadian Foundation makes grants for public policy research, environment, social service projects, and international development. Grant making includes interests in land and wildlife conservation in Canada and internationally. Donner’s grants are restricted to organizations that have Canadian charitable status. The Foundation does not regularly respond to letters of inquiry or unsolicited requests, however, organizations may send a brief description of their goals and programs. The Prince Albert II Foundation calls for project proposals on forest conservation through the action of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities. The foundation seeks to support conservation of forest ecosystems through the action of indigenous peoples and local communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, South and Southeast Asia, and Pacific islands. Projects should focus on the conservation of high ecological value areas and follow a holistic approach to preserve all elements that make up these natural ecosystems and the biodiversity they contain; fauna, flora, soil, air, human beings. Any financial support requested should not exceed 50% of the total project budget.
