The Fiat Panis Foundation makes awards for university thesis and dissertation research in themes of agriculture, ecology, and natural resources, with a focus on food security in developing countries. The Hans Hartwig Ruthenberg Graduate Award is €7.5 thousand in support of qualified young scientists by honoring their excellent master thesis in the field of food security. World Food Prize Foundation — World Food Prize 2026

The World Food Prize Foundation invites nominations for the annual World Food Prize. The World Food Prize (US$250 thousand) recognizes an individual or individuals who have made outstanding achievements to enhance the world’s food production and its distribution to those most in need. Fields of achievement include soil and land; plant and animal science; food science and technology; rural development; water and the environment; natural resource conservation; poverty elimination; and many others. World Food Prize Foundation — Borlaug Award for Field Research 2026

The World Food Prize Foundation invites nominations for the Norman Borlaug Award for Field Research. The Award (US$10 thousand) recognizes science-based achievement in international agriculture and food production by an individual under the age of 40. The award will honor an individual who is working closely “in the field” with farmers, animal herders, fishers, or others in rural communities. The deadline for nominations is 01 June 2026. Pulitzer Center — Ocean and Fisheries Reporting Grant

The Pulitzer Center provides short-term project support to journalists reporting in tropical forests. The Rainforest Reporting Grant supports journalists in three main rainforest regions—the Amazon, Congo Basin, and Southeast Asia. The supported journalism projects will focus on the tropical forests’ role in the overall climate equation and weather patterns, deforestation drivers, and solutions to halt deforestation. The Pulitzer Center will fund costs associated with reporting projects on tropical rainforests in the range of US$8 thousand to US$15 thousand. Grants are made to local journalists based in the tropical rainforest region. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. More

New Africa Fund — Africa Impact Fundraising Grant

The Africa Impact Fundraising Grant (AIFG) is open to legally registered NGOs, community-based organisations or social enterprises from any of the member states of the African Union. Participating organisations receive online training on small-donor fundraising, then take part in a 30-day fundraising challenge; those that perform well may get up to US$5,000 in matching funds. Additionally, up to 10 top-performing organisations are invited to a week-long in-person workshop in Rwanda on topics like grant writing, donor outreach, budgeting, marketing and fundraising strategy. Earth Journalism Network — Reporting on Climate Change

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting fellowships to communicators in India to support the production of in-depth reports on the private sector and climate change. EJN welcomes pitches for reports that focus on climate financing and carbon trading, greenwashing in the private sector, innovative and locally led solutions, challenges around rare earth materials, renewable energy and clean mobility. The Networks expects to award up to 10 fellowships. Journalists from India are welcome to apply. The application deadline is 08 January 2026. Details

Prince Claus Fund — Support for Emerging Artists

The Seed Awards offer support to emerging artists and cultural practitioners who use the power of culture for positive change. Each award recipient will receive an award of €5000 to invest in developing their idea. Applicants must live and work in eligible countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, or Eastern Europe. The deadline for submission is 08 January 2026. Prince Claus Seed Awards

Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants on Fisheries Transparency

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists to support the production of in-depth stories that will call attention to issues related to fisheries transparency. Applicants can be from any coastal country. For the purposes of this grant call, EJN will only be focusing on marine fisheries, not freshwater. Hertie School — Climate Action Scholarship

The Climate Action Scholarship offers full tuition coverage (about € 38,500) for students admitted to its two-year Master of Public Policy program who are committed to sustainability, climate action, renewable energy, and energy-system transformation. It is open to applicants of all nationalities. To apply, you first submit a standard MPP application by 15 January 2026, and — once admitted — complete a funding application.
