Africa Fellowship for Young Energy Leaders — Applications

Africa Energy Fellowship for Young Energy Leaders (AFYEL) is a capacitation program for early-career energy leaders working on sustainable access to energy and ultimately a zero-carbon Africa. The fellowship includes expert training sessions to enable participants to get empowered and gain clarity to create solutions in the area. The program is open to The ambition of the Program is to recent graduates of Physics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building / Construction Engineering, Physics, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance and Solar Energy. Pulitzer Center — Global South Civil Society Microgrants

The Pulitzer Center invites civil society organizations in the Global South to apply for microgrants supporting civic engagement projects. Eligible projects use at least one published Pulitzer Center story to advance public understanding on one of three focus areas: rainforest degradation and Indigenous rights, ocean health and marine governance, or the intersection of climate and labor, including gender and community resilience. Grants range from US$2,000 to US$4,000. Eligible applicants are grassroots organizations, civil society coalitions, youth movements, and community educators with prior experience running civic engagement activities in the Global South, particularly Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. Earth Journalism Network — Workshop on Covering Non-Economic Losses and Damage Caused By Climate Change

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites journalists based in Bangladesh to a three-day workshop on reporting non-economic loss and damage (NELD) from climate change. The workshop takes place 27-29 October 2026 in Satkhira. It covers how NELD figures into global climate negotiations and the UN Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage, the differential impacts on women and other vulnerable groups, and how reporting on resilience and adaptation can support solutions; the program includes a field trip. Applicants must be Bangladesh-based journalists across print, online, radio, or television with some prior environmental or climate reporting experience, and must commit to attending all three days. World Food Programme — Climate Adaptation

The WFP Innovation Accelerator, in partnership with the Adaptation Fund, aims to identify, support, and scale high-impact innovations that enhance climate adaptation across Latin America and the Caribbean. The World Food Programme invites applications from innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers with solutions that strengthen resilience, improve food security, and help vulnerable communities adapt to climate-related shocks such as droughts, floods, storms, and rising temperatures. Selected applicants will be invited to a January 2027 innovation bootcamp, with bootcamp teams then eligible to apply for a funded sprint program. The application deadline is 06 September 2026. Fast Forward — Tech Accelerator

The Fast Forward invites applications for the Accelerator Program to support and scale tech nonprofits. Tech innovations may include agri-tech or clean energy, among others. Selected entrepreneurs receive a US$25 thousand grant, mentorship, and connections to people who can help their innovation scale. The accelerator is open to tech nonprofits from around the world. Next Einstein Forum — Africa Energy Innovation Challenge

The Africa Energy Innovation Challenge (AEIC) invites young African energy entrepreneurs to submit early-stage prototypes that address energy needs across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, transport, or AI-powered energy management. Applicants (aged between 18 and 35) form teams to co-develop and pitch their innovations, competing for support that may include funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities. World Bank Group — Young Professionals Program 2027

The World Bank Group invites applications for the Young Professionals Program as a starting point for a career at the World Bank. The program is designed for individuals skilled in areas such as agriculture, natural resources, and many others. Applicants should hold a PhD or master’s degree and relevant work experience; be fluent in English; and meet other criteria relevant to experience, skills, and age. Every year, around 40 applicants are accepted into the program. The closing date for applications is 30 September 2026. Young Professionals Program

Rainforest Trust — Creating New Protected Areas

The Rainforest Trust partners with local conservation organizations to create new protected areas and expand existing ones for Critically Endangered and Endangered species. The Initiative invites applications for conservation partnerships from nonprofit entities and NGOs for projects in tropical Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Applying organizations may submit proposals for either a land purchase or a protected area designation. Applications to create new protected areas are reviewed three times per year. Explorers Club — Marine Exploration Grant

The Explorers Club supports the scientific fieldwork of groundbreaking explorers around the world. The Stephenson Explorers Advancement Program supports college undergraduates/graduate students, and independent explorers under the age of 35 conducting exploration and field research for marine exploration and conservation projects. Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture — Seed Fund for Research and Training

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture provides up to US$15 thousand in start-up grants to Southeast Asian researchers to support innovative, short-term research or training projects aimed at improving food security, farmers’ incomes.
