The Conversation Insights — Prize for Writers 2026

The Conversation, in partnership with Faber and Curtis Brown, invites entries for a writing prize focused on non-fiction storytelling. The competition is open to early-career researchers and PhD students currently enrolled at a university in Australia or New Zealand. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in Madagascar and the Indian Ocean Islands

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites letters of inquiry for large grants to support biodiversity conservation in the Madagascar and Indian Ocean Islands Hotspot. Non-governmental organizations, community groups, private enterprises, and other civil society entities are eligible to apply for projects that strengthen the protection of priority sites and ecosystems. Grants are available for amounts over US$50 thousand to support conservation actions in Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, and the Seychelles. The deadline for submission is 07 July 2026. African Plant Nutrition Institute — Phosphorus Fellowship

The African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) accepts applications for the Young African Phosphorus Fellowship. This program aims to support early-career scientists working in African National Agricultural Research and Extension Systems institutions or universities who are conducting innovative research on phosphorus management in African agro-ecosystems. APNI will award up to five fellowships of US$5,000 each. Applicants must be full-time scientists at an African NARES institution or university. The application deadline is 07 July 2026. Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft — Women in Agriculture Award

The Women in Ag Award honors women around the world who are leading innovation and sustainability in agriculture. Participants may apply in one of four categories: Farming, Agribusiness, Education, or Technology & Research. Women working in agriculture, research, agri-tech, education, or journalism are invited to submit a video and supporting materials showcasing their impact. RELX Group — Environmental Challenge 2026

The RELX Group sponsors the RELX Group Environmental Challenge to recognize projects worldwide that best demonstrate sustainable access to safe water and/or access to improved sanitation. The challenge is open to individuals and organizations (profit and non-profit). Projects must advance sustainable access to safe water where it is presently at risk, and/or access to improved sanitation. Two prizes are available, with one winner in the clean water and sanitation category and one winner in the ocean category each receiving a grant of US$75 thousand. Global Landscapes Forum — Restoration Stewards

The Restoration Stewards program supports the work of young restoration practitioners and their teams through funding, mentorship, and training to deepen the impact of youth-led restoration projects. Teams receive a grant of €5 thousand to develop their restoration project and raise awareness among their local communities about the importance of ecosystem restoration and healthy landscapes. Global Biodiversity Information Facility — Publishing DNA-derived Data

The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) invites proposals for projects that facilitate the publication of DNA-derived biodiversity data through its network. This program is open to institutions and organizations worldwide that aim to develop or improve technical pipelines for sharing molecular data, such as metabarcoding or environmental DNA results. The initiative offers grants of up to €20 thousand to support technical developments, documentation, and training that enhance the flow of genetic information into the GBIF platform. Global Biodiversity Information Facility — DNA Reference Libraries for Biodiversity Research

The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) invites proposals for projects that support the creation and integration of DNA reference libraries to enhance biodiversity monitoring. This program is open to research institutions, universities, and non-governmental organizations worldwide that aim to bridge gaps in taxonomic coverage by linking genetic sequences to voucher specimens and publishing the resulting data through the GBIF network. Swiss National Science Foundation — Postdoc Mobility

Postdoc researchers who wish to pursue an academic career in Switzerland are invited to apply to the Postdoc.Mobility fellowships. The research stay enables researchers to acquire more in-depth knowledge, increases their scientific independence, and enhances their research profile. The fellowships include a grant for subsistence costs, a flat rate for travel expenses, and a possible contribution to research and conference costs. The funding period is 24 months. Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust — Sustainable Future Grant

The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT) accepts applications for the Sustainable Future Program to develop and promote sustainable, low-carbon alternatives to the current economic systems. JRCT is particularly interested in activities that help marginalized groups and young activists. The Fund will support campaigns and movements, networks, and the replication of innovative local projects on a larger scale. Eligibility extends to UK based and foreign non-profit organizations.
