IUCN — Biodiversity Conservation

BESTLIFE2030 provides grant funding for small-scale field actions for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in the EU’s Outermost Regions and associated Overseas Countries and Territories. The program provides support at both local and regional levels for the conservation of biodiversity and the sustainable use of ecosystem services, including for climate adaptation. Grants are a maximum of €100 thousand per recipient for projects ranging between 18 to 36 months. In order to be eligible the lead applicant must be a private or public legal entity and be located in one of the priority regions (Amazonia, the French Caribbean, the Indian Ocean and North Atlantic’s Saint Pierre and Miquelon). Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Jamaica

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Jamaica. CFLI provides funding to projects that create income-earning opportunities for women (which may also include rural agricultural development), as well as environment, and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation. The average contribution is C$10 thousand to C$25 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — Global Forestry Recognition

The FAO 80 Global Forestry Recognition initiative aims to honor individuals and organizations worldwide that have made outstanding contributions to sustainable forest management and the transformation of agrifood systems over the past 80 years. Nominations are open to individuals, institutions, and organizations that have achieved long-term results in forest production, conservation, sustainable use of forest resources, or have implemented effective forest policies and strategies. Alexander von Humboldt Foundation — Georg Forster Research Fellowship

The Georg Forster Research Fellowship supports postdoctoral and experienced researchers from developing and transition countries with their research in collaboration with a host at a German research institution. Nominees must be nationals of a developing or transition country, excluding the People’s Republic of China and India. The monthly fellowship amount is €2,670. Fellowships may last from 6 to 24 months. Applications are reviewed on a regular basis in February, June, and October. More here

Public Interest Registry — .ORG Impact Awards

Nominations are now open for the .ORG Impact Awards. The global awards program recognizes individuals and organizations for the impact they have made in their communities. The award will recognize an organization or individual that works to combat the increased threats to the environment, or that has made significant contributions and innovations in the fight to end hunger or alleviate poverty, among other categories. Innovate 4 Nature — Award for Nature-Positive Solutions

Innovate 4 Nature is a Swiss foundation supporting start-ups in the nature-positive space. The foundation issues an award in which organizations can participate. The Innovate 4 Nature Award honors projects, companies, and entrepreneurs that have developed promising, high-quality nature-positive solutions. The four key areas of the I4N Award are sustainable management of ecosystems; nature as infrastructure; regenerative agriculture; and circular nature-positive solutions. The award offers a total of CHF 100 thousand in prize money. Award winners can benefit from access to an ecosystem of partners and experts. Fondation Tutator — Change Through Technology

The Tutator Forward Grant Program provides in-kind support to nonprofit organizations and social enterprises worldwide by developing custom digital solutions that improve social or environmental impact. The grant offers tailored software development services to address operational or programmatic needs; a dedicated project team for implementation; six months of technical support and training post-deployment. No financial funding or hardware is provided. Projects must focus on new software development (not modifications of existing tools), and applicants must be nonprofit organizations or social enterprises with a mission to drive social or environmental change. Selected grantees receive access to the source code and a free license for the developed software. The application deadline is 22 June 2025. More information

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — Aquatic Food Systems

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations aims to recognize the critical role of aquatic foods in nourishing communities and sustaining livelihoods. Nominations are open to national, regional, and local administrations, research and development institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations that have made a meaningful impact on the sustainable and responsible development of fisheries and aquaculture. World Academy of Sciences — Postgraduate Fellowship Program

TWAS offers a postdoctoral fellowship program for young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) who wish to pursue postdoctoral research in physical sciences in departments and laboratories of the National Centre for Physics (NCP) in Islamabad. NCP will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs such as food, accommodation and health insurance. Applicants for these fellowships must be permanent residents in a developing country and hold a PhD degree in a field of natural sciences. The application deadline is 31 July 2025. Know more
