The Zayed Sustainability Prize recognizes achievements that are driving impact, innovation and inspiration in environmental stewardship and global sustainability. The Prize is awarded across several categories: (i) Health; (ii) Food; (iii) Energy; (iv) Water; and (v) Global high schools (i.e., high schools in six world regions). Global Biodiversity Information Facility — Young Researchers Award 2024
The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) invites proposals for the Graduate Researchers Award to foster innovative research and discovery in biodiversity informatics. GBIF will present awards of €5 thousand each to one master’s student and one doctoral student. Students must apply through and be nominated by a Head of Delegation of a GBIF participant country. Nudge — Global Impact Challenge
The Nudge Global Impact Challenge is an online personal development program for young professionals that focuses on leadership, sustainability and impact. Participants learn from leading companies (profit and non-profit), social enterprises, governmental and non-governmental organizations through individualized coaching sessions and learning modules. The Nudge academy provides 30 scholarships to successful applicants which frees them of paying the participation fee (€5.990) for the program. Association of Field Ornithologists — Grants for Research on Neotropical Birds
The Association of Field Ornithologists (AFO) is dedicated to the scientific study and dissemination of information about birds in their natural habitats. The Pamela and Alexander F. Skutch Research Award supports minimally invasive research into the life histories of little known birds of the continental neotropics. The AFO welcomes applications for funding from amateur or professional ornithologists of any nationality. Applicants and/or their primary research supervisors must be members of the AFO. Sea of Change Foundation — Reef Rescue and Rapid Response
Reef Rescue and Rapid Response grants seek to empower divers and their community to act as first-responders to localized impacts to coral reefs. Funds support the immediate response to coral reef damage from anchor drops, vessel groundings, entanglement, oil spills and acute pollution that impact coral reefs. The grants will support divers and their communities in responding quickly to a reef-damaging incident by helping cover immediate costs such as boat fuel, staff time, video cameras, lift bags, transect tapes and handheld GPS units. Ocean Foundation — Ocean Conservation, Research, and Environmental Education
The Ocean Foundation directs funding for marine and ocean conservation. Program areas cover essentially all aspects of marine and ocean conservation. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change — Adaptation Fund
The Adaptation Fund makes grants for projects and programs that address the adverse impacts of climate change. Eligibility for grants extends to countries which are Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, with emphasis on developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change. Grants are primarily to government organizations such as national ministries, development institutes, local government authorities, and others — sometimes in partnership with civil society organizations. Project proposals are submitted through any of the Fund’s national, regional, or multilateral implementing entities. The Adaptation Fund accepts project and program proposals on a rolling basis. AirAsia Foundation — Improving Communities
The AirAsia Foundation makes grants to social enterprises with projects to empower communities, enable them to build sustainable livelihoods, tackle social problems, or protect the environment. Applicants must be registered and be based in ASEAN. NGOs looking to diversify funding sources through social enterprise are welcomed to submit an application. AirAsia’s priority is to support smaller social enterprises. Applications can be submitted anytime, but the review process may take up to 6 months. Link
